The police have arrested three men who were planning to kill Obama , because he is black and they said no "Ni**er" should occupy the White House! You and I both know that if you've lived in this country long enough that there are a lot of people who are still very prejudice against blacks. Oh, they route for them in football and basketball, but don't show that you have a brain like Barack has, because they want black people to always feel inferior to them. This is what I really dislike about America, sometimes too much freedom can be a bad thing...especially when you have people like these guys running around loose.

Well, I hope that this will be the first and last thing that we hear about anyone trying to hurt Barack or any of the candidates. We live in the greatest country on earth, yet we also have some of the weirdest people too.
Stay safe Barack, we who support you want you to show the world what a real leader looks like...and in our country they now come in all colors, so get used to it!
(Pick the Obama name to read the full story.)Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-40890211390062564612008-08-22T14:34:00.005-04:002008-08-22T14:53:45.065-04:002008-08-22T14:53:45.065-04:00HopeWell, we made it another week! So go out and eat, drink and be marry my friends because it doesn't last forever, there will come a day when this will only be a distant memory, and believe me, it comes at you faster than you think.
Anyway, I found a real nice video that I'd like to share with you, this video gives us HOPE, hope that there will be a tomorrow. I hope that the American people will soon see through the negative advertising he's using against Barack. All you'll ever get with McCain is more George Bush, and I for one have had enough of Bush! I'm sticking to my guns and not wavering at all about Barack, I know that this is the man to lead us out of this dismal situation that we've been in for the past eight years. They say "negative" advertising works, however many times we wind up with the wrong man in office because of it. Don't forget, we voted Bush back in for a second term, so we didn't learn anything the first time! We need a man like Barack to lead us out of this endless BS and regain the confidence and respect of our allies around the world again. Our economy is also in disarray, since when does McCain know anything about the economy? He doesn't, and I'm not too sure that he knows anything about foreign affairs either. Remember, politicians say anything to get elected...McCain has been in Washington for many many years and what has he done? Not much my friend. Oh, he's made friends with the likes of Ted Kennedy and his new found buddy Joe Lieberman...talk about a "maverick", he's more like a "LIBERAL than anything else! Barack may be new and without much history behind him, but listen to him talk, he's a leader, something that we've lacked since the Clinton days in the White House. McCain doesn't know who we're even fighting, he had to have Lieberman (D)whisper in his ear to correct him, remember? LOL Ready to be President, yeah right! Remember, Bush didn't have much experience either, yet the people (not me) put him in office. The GOP uses many "tricks" to get their man elected, so don't be fooled again...we can't afford four more years of George Bush! Unfortunetly some people have to learn the hard way, I hope that it's not this time!Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-87152587044348964902008-08-19T15:16:00.004-04:002008-08-19T15:38:33.080-04:002008-08-19T15:38:33.080-04:00Tuesday and countingWell here it is Tuesday, the day before my favorite day...Wednesday. Yes, I love Wednesday, because of two things. First, it's the day that all my favorite shows are on. Like MONSTER QUEST, UFO HUNTERS and GHOST HUNTERS! Wow! what excellent shows to have on Hump Day. Programming like this gets me through the week...it's like Friday starts on Wednesday, for me anyway. Second: We(d)nesday has a "silent" "D" in it, something that you don't see very often. I don't know why there's a "D" in it anyway, it seems like a waste of a letter to me. No wonder why so many people have trouble learning English.

This is the last week that the swimming pool will be open for this year, so I will be taking the gang swimming again some time this week. I took them the other day and Hannah really "shook" she was so cold, so I don't know if we'll put her in the water this time, it depends on how warm it is. We don't want her to get sick.

I don't know if you've noticed or not, but I can't get a page rank on my Blog, no matter what I do. At the same time some people that hardly ever post get a ranking! They've got to change the way that they determine who gets a rank, there is just too much unfairness the way that it is now.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-2019056674458089202008-08-15T15:39:00.004-04:002008-08-15T15:51:50.934-04:002008-08-15T15:51:50.934-04:00It's Friday!Friday is finally here, soon the kids will be back in school. I'm telling you, the time is moving so fast that I just can't keep up with it. In some ways I just hate to see Tiana go back to school, it brings to light the fact that she's growing up, something that really bothers me, me being an older father. I just hope to live long enough to raise her. Lately so many people have been dying in their 50's and 60's that I wonder when my time will also come. Love your kids my friend and enjoy every minute with them that you have, because when it's over, it's over forever. No one really knows if there is anything after death, because no one has ever been able to come back and tell us...knowing this; appreciate what you have today, there may not be any tomorrow.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-29229977584607731612008-08-15T00:13:00.012-04:002008-08-15T15:38:53.233-04:002008-08-15T15:38:53.233-04:00Pro Multimedia SoftwareHere's something for all of you who are Audio/Video Editing buffs. LOL

We're planning on caulking around all of our front windows to try and get rid of the "Bee" problem. We went to the Home Depot yesterday and purchased everything we need to get the job done. Let's hope that this finally does it.

Have you been watching the Olympics? LOL Anyway, I just thought that I'd add a nice picture of Hannah for you to look at while you're visiting my Blog. Hannah's so pretty, just look at her eyes. The love of a father...oh my.

Well we're expecting rain some time tonight. We still can't find out where those "Bee's" are coming from. This may take a professional to find them, but I'm sure that theres a nest in one of our walls somewhere. This morning there were about twenty of them around our front window and a few around our side window. All are now deceased!

Are you ready for the week? Not me, I hate Sunday, don't know why...I think it goes back to my school days, when I knew that I had to go to school the next day. These days, I like Wednesdays because most of the shows I watch are on TV.
I'm not yet into the Olympics, maybe when "track and field" get going I'll gain some interest. This time around it just hasn't inspired me to watch and I really don't know why.

Well, have a great week and come back and visit me again soon...I miss not having you around!Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-59254775211142197852008-08-08T13:01:00.005-04:002008-08-08T13:16:09.246-04:002008-08-08T13:16:09.246-04:00End of week/start of weekend!Well it's finally Friday..wow, that was a long week, to tell you the truth. Anyway, the weekend is almost upon us and it's not going to be very long before Tiana is back in school. I promised to take her fishing before school starts, so we have to go and buy some fishing tackle. It should be fun though. I'm also sure that she'll get quite "bored" when she finds out that it takes a lot of time to catch fish. They just don't say to themselves...wow, a fishhook, I guess since I have nothing else to do except swim around, I'll just bite on it and see what happens! No, no, no that's not the way it works, and she'll soon find that out. I guess I'm good for taking her at least once and see what happens. Knowing her, she'll soon tire of fishing and want to run off and play. I'll write about it after we go, but there may not be too much to write about! LOL Have a great weekend friends.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-56636729396031313242008-08-07T12:08:00.004-04:002008-08-07T12:19:35.318-04:002008-08-07T12:19:35.318-04:00Buzzzz!We've got a "Bee" problem. Every time we get up in the morning, there are several flying around our front window. Tiana was stung by one the other day, trying to remove it. It seems to me that there may be a nest inside our house wall near our front window, because they always appear there. We've looked, but cannot see anything. This is getting frustrating and we need to find out where they're getting in. Most of the time they have to be seen entering a nest to find it. This may be the case here too, so it could take some time to rid ourselves of them...unless we hire someone to eradicate them. We'll try the old fashioned way first and see if we get lucky.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-85410031637416843912008-08-06T11:54:00.008-04:002008-08-07T12:38:41.704-04:002008-08-07T12:38:41.704-04:00Too much Obama, not for me anywayI just read an article that states, 2/3 of Americans are getting tired of hearing about Barack Obama. This is hard for me to understand, because if you watch news programs, they say that he's the "new kid on the block" and he needs to, not only impress upon the people his positions, but tell enough about himself, so that the people will in fact "get to know him". Polls blow me away sometimes, like this one. This is a "damn if you do, damn if you don't" situation for this candidate. John McCain on the other hand is well known. I'm not too sure that many of us like his Washington as usual approach to solving our nations problems though. A change of direction is surely needed. Maybe after the conventions are over with and the three debates start, we'll get a better understanding about this new "rock star" Obama...McCain, we all know about him, and I'm not too sure we want him to lead us in the same direction as George Bush!Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-30960544436440780592008-08-05T10:35:00.004-04:002008-08-05T10:57:54.783-04:002008-08-05T10:57:54.783-04:00McCains going negative...Well it looks like John McCain has decided to go "negative", I think he knows that this is the only way that he has to defeat Obama in November. But people are getting tired of politicians taking pop shots at each other and making "exaggerated" statements. Look at what the Republicans did to John Kerry in 04, shameful to say the least. Now their trying the same thing in 08 with Obama. The American people want CHANGE, not old Washington politics, but McCain doesn't get it. Issues are piling up but because of negative adds, they really are not talked about enough. Let's get these guys back on track and hear how they will solve our countries problems. I know that McCain is not for National Health Care, so on that issue alone I have to go with Barack. Wake up John, not everyone has great health care like you have.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-2359335662205889422008-08-01T11:48:00.005-04:002008-08-01T12:16:16.323-04:002008-08-01T12:16:16.323-04:00Mosquitoes everywhere! You know, since we moved to Michigan, we had not seen many "Mosquitoes" for several years now, but because of all the rain we've had lately, they seem to be everywhere! We've been letting the children play outside in the evenings because it's been so hot during the day, but this has turned out to have it's own problems. MOSTETOES...MOSKETOES...MOSKETOES, man, their everywhere! Tiana has bites all over her body, but luckily Hannah has managed to avoid them...so far anyway. It happened so fast that we were unaware of it happening. Right now, I'm trying a few things to try to combat them, but in the end the insects usually win these battles. They've been on planet Earth allot longer than we have, and I'm sure adapted to all types of chemicals to rid ourselves from their wrath. Cockroaches and Termites were the problem when we lived in California, but these little "Dracula's" top the list as far as formidable opponents. I guess we just have to learn to live with them, since we can't beat them.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-24301400578376300692008-07-19T11:25:00.003-04:002008-07-19T11:36:56.506-04:002008-07-19T11:36:56.506-04:00Tiana's Birthday 7/18/2000
Guess what, it's "Tiana's" Birthday (7/18/2000), come on over for a piece of cake! Yes, it's that time again when a parent gets to throw out their chest and brag a bit , but at the same time a little sadness too because your child is growing up. Anyway, things went well, Tim (her brother form an earlier marriage) came by and brought her a lot of candy and a few other things. She had a great time. Her favorite gift was a pink radio she desperately wanted. We finally found a "Barbie" radio she liked at Toys-R-Us. Tim also gave her some cash, so we'll have to go shopping and see what else she wants.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-26463685984157547262008-07-14T14:03:00.008-04:002008-07-14T14:35:39.563-04:002008-07-14T14:35:39.563-04:00The start of a new weekWell here it is Monday, the start of a new week. I hope all of you had a great weekend. As for us, we didn't have anything really important happen, just run of the mill stuff. Ana is planning to take the kids to the park today, so that will give me time to get back to some of the things that I didn't finish here at home.
Anyway, as soon as something happens of interest, I'll post it, as for now I'm posting one of my favorite "rockers" from the past to kick off the week. So turn your speaker up real "high" because this guy rocks. Who am I talking about? Mr. Chuck Berry of course!

Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-86570682841422339412008-07-13T12:41:00.005-04:002008-07-13T13:20:17.196-04:002008-07-13T13:20:17.196-04:00McCain does it again!I just read an article where Iran has denounced the remark John McCain made about killing Iranians with our tobacco exports to their country. I'm telling you, joke or no joke, this was a "stupid" thing for a presidential candidate to say. He said that it was a joke, but you just cannot joke about killing innocent people. It's their government that should be held accountable, not their people. Johns "flaws" keep piling up, he should be doing everything he can to enhance his standing with people, but McCain is McCain and he does whatever he wants, no matter what other people say about him. Attitudes like his will not work in the long run, and he could pay the price for his "off color" remarks in November.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-53195562468666866292008-07-08T12:54:00.017-04:002008-07-08T14:06:25.027-04:002008-07-08T14:06:25.027-04:00Affordable $8.00 eyeglasses onlineIf you've looked for eyeglasses like I have, then you probably noticed that it's hard to find a good deal these days. Just recently a well known company had a "special", half off on all lenses through July 5Th. Well I checked them out, but when I went to their store, I found out that you also have to purchase "frames" to get the deal. They suppress this in their add..oh maybe it showed up in "small print", surely something you'd overlook. I was disappointed to say the least and walked away. Here in the Detroit area Trampolines are getting very popular, you see them in a lot of backyards these days. We purchased a smaller one for our kids (7 1/2' Dia). which is more than enough space for two younger kids. We made sure that we purchased one with a "safety net" so they wouldn't fall off of it and get hurt. So far they're both enjoying it. Here is a picture of Hannah jumping on it..she's having a ball!
Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-50510074165665460372008-07-05T09:45:00.018-04:002008-07-07T11:42:30.671-04:002008-07-07T11:42:30.671-04:004Th of July "Fizzle"The 4TH of July celebration wasn't much of a "pop" or "boom" over here in Detroit this year, I guess high gas prices did the celebration in. People must have saved their money and not purchased many home fireworks this year. Every year since moving to Detroit we've needed to guard our house from falling skyrocket debris, but not his year. Oh there was some, but it sure wasn't like in past years. Police usually look the other way on July 4TH, allowing citizens to shoot off "illegal" type fireworks on the 4TH. This time there weren't many to see. What a "fizzle! Tiana always enjoys watching the skyrockets from our backyard. Last night I had to walk her around the neighborhood just for her to see a few!
I don't know how much high gas prices are going to change things, but change things they will, if last night is any indication.
Here's the problem. We've had crazy Muslims attack us, which put a dent in our economy, not to mention "our pride", Because of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) the US now allows our jobs to move to China and India for cheap labor, which in turn stimulated their economies to the point that many of their citizens now drive cars and are sucking up all the worlds oil. What's left for us, horse and buggy days again!? Our politician's are either inept or just don't really give a damn about the American people.

Here's something that you may not know:
John McCain is for even more NAFTA type treaties, he says this over and over and you're paying the price for NAFTA at the gas pump today, so remember this when you vote in November.
Did you know that "Cindy McCain", is the "Chairman Of The Board" for beer giant "Budweiser" in Phoenix? She makes "millions" of dollars from beer and the Iraq war, she doesn't want you to know this, so she won't disclose her tax returns! Now swallow that Mr./Mrs. Conservative. Did you know that Cindy also provides poor old John with his own personal jet to cruise around the country in? This is true. I'll bet that you thought John McCain was some poor sucker from Phoenix without the finances of Barack Obama..well think again Mr. and Mrs. America. Watch out John, the American people will find out about you and Cindy sooner or later.

Let's let George Carlin tell it in terms everyone will understand...
Advisement: Adult language.

Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-36883000544056122032008-07-02T07:48:00.011-04:002008-07-07T11:57:24.005-04:002008-07-07T11:57:24.005-04:00TV, the Park & Gas Prices

Well here we are Wednesday, my favorite day for television. I like to watch "Monster Quest" and "Ghost Hunters" (TAPS) which both are on tonight. I'm fascinated by Ghosts and the unexplained. It's unbelievable how many unexplained things there are in the world.

I took Tiana and Hannah to the park yesterday. There was only one problem, Hannah wanted to do everything that her big sister was doing. This sometimes gets her into trouble. There are slides, swings and a lot of things to climb on, most of which were designed for bigger kids. That doesn't bother Hannah though, she follows Tiana wherever she goes and tries to do the same things! You have to keep a close eye on her because she gets herself into trouble real fast. I guess this is what parents are for though. We had a lot of fun anyway and plan to go back soon.

How are you handling the high gas prices? You know it's not just the gas, it's the prices in the grocery stories as well, all triggered by high gas prices. I was reading that many food producers are not raising their prices, but reducing the amount of food that they're selling to the consumer. So check the contents in that can the next time you shop. Candy has gone this way, unless you haven't noticed. I remember when a candy bar was a "real"candy bar..now most are half the size that they used to be!
I guess it's time to use more discount coupons and look for "specials" whenever we can. I wonder if anyone realized that it would get like this? American CEO's were salivating and couldn't wait to start moving our jobs to Mexico, China and India because of cheap labor. Now that these countries are prospering (at our expense), there's not enough energy for us anymore,so gas prices skyrocket! Somebody had better find us another environmentally friendly planet to live on soon, because everything is going to hell here! I wonder how long it would take us to screw up the new planet?

Believe me friends, America is dying a slow painful death, so all our enemies have to do is wait for us to die..then walk in and take over! No need for suicide bombers here, prosperity will do us in.
Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-63958917627279231932008-06-25T11:49:00.032-04:002008-07-23T14:02:08.875-04:002008-07-23T14:02:08.875-04:00There will "NEVER" be another George CarlinThis is a post that brings tears to my eyes, and I'm sorry to have to write it<it>.

Sunday 6/22/2008 Santa Monica CA. One of the "best ever" commedians passed away, George Carlin. I've followed George for most of my life and never missed an opportunity to watch him perform. He was an "American Original" the likes that will never be seen again. He prefered to use language that most of us cringe at, but we've all heard most of our lives..he was just honest about it. Now tell the truth, that you've never used the "F" word, or at least heard it throughout your lifetime. Remember, God will strike you dead if you lie!
George could use such words and make us laugh . Why, you ask? Because he made us look back at ourselves and see ourselves as we really are...PHONYS! George was the real deal funnyman who took shots at everybody, including God himself. George made a lot of jokes about God, surely God must have enjoyed it too, because he called him home for a gig!
If you haven''t enjoyed one of Georges performances, then just log onto "You Tube"and type "George Carlin". Then sit back and enjoy the show, you won't see anyone like him ever again!. Go get 'em George!

"Saturday Night Live" will rebroadcast a 1975 show with George Carlin as the host this Saturday...don't miss it! Sometimes it's good to open yourself up to the world (like I did)and let a little sunshine in. We all have dark clouds in our lives sometimes, and some of us choose not to share those memories with others. But then again, sometimes it's better to get it off your chest, in order to let people know that you are "human" too, have a heart, love and are loved, and at the same time acknowledge loved ones from our past. Again, thank you for your comments.Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9141607401285538655.post-15257727901791036572008-06-15T12:11:00.014-04:002008-06-22T12:59:05.424-04:002008-06-22T12:59:05.424-04:00I remember "CHARLES O. ZECH"..my DadIf you have a great father, today is the day to let him know. With me, my "Dad" decided that he couldn't handle taking care of his family after my mother passed away in childbirth with me, so he quickly moved back to Canada, leaving three children to fend for themselves. Fortunately my aunt decided to take me. My next oldest sister "Connie" had it pretty tough living on and off the streets, until she finally found someone to marry her. She was only thirteen when my mother died. My oldest sister "Shirley" contracted Tuberculosis (TB) and spent all her teenage years in the hospital.
One day a total stranger (Charles Zech)found out that I didn't have a father figure in my life. He felt sad about my dad leaving me alone, so he would come to our house every Sunday and take me somewhere with him. As time went by, he became very close to our family, so he started spending more and more time with us. One day he was invited to move in, since he was at our house all the time anyway. He was one of the gentlest men I've ever known, and I was told that if anyone had 'pure" thoughts in their head, it was him! I never heard him utter a cuss word or anything negative about anyone! Do you know anyone like this? Probably not.
One day while we were gone to the city shopping, my cousin came by to visit, only to find him lying on the living room floor from a heart attack. He survived that attack and life went on for a while. He stopped me one day and hugged me, then asked me...."do you love me"?I was startled, but quickly responded."Yes" I do! He seemed quite happy to hear me say that.
Then one day, in the early morning hours, I heard a terrible groaning sound coming from our living room. As I awoke and went to see what was happening, I suddenly noticed that it was "Uncle Charles" having another heart attack while sitting on our couch, and my aunt was there trying to give him a nitroglycerin pill to stimulate his heart. My aunt (a nurse)was trying everything she could to save his life, but nothing she did was going to save him. He passed away right in front of me and left a big hole in my heart, that has lasted until this day.
I would like to send a song to him on this "Fathers Day" to let him know how much he is still missed, and that I love him as the father he was to me as a boy. I will never forget the times that we had together.

Rick S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17760595022806942621noreply@blogger.com
