World over population

Once in awhile I like to bring to the attention of my readers the problem of over population in the world. Just this morning I ran across a video showing the problem when births go unchecked. Ask yourself if you would like your children to grow up in such a world, knowing hunger, filth, corruption, disease, drugs, prostitution and starvation? This is what over population breeds into our society. No person in their right mind would condemn their children to such a fate. So why don't you do something about it, you can you know? Contraceptives are the only real answer to bring births under control, yet the Church will not accept birth control. The world can only sustain so many people, then we will all starve. The more poverty we have, the more crime will increase. The citizens of many major America cities today have to live with bars on their windows/doors and burglar alarms on their houses/cars, so what will it be like when the world population doubles? I would hate to say. If you put too many animals into a cage with only half the food, they will start to eat one another! If guess if this happens to us, the people who are left behind can pray for the souls of those who were eaten! Third world countries had better consider using contraceptives as a way of controlling over population before it's too late.

Lifes precious angels

Well, I'm finally getting rid of my cold thank God. Boy, it's sure a hassle trying to do regular things when you don't feel good.
Yep, we got our snow storm alright, but it wasn't really too bad this time. We got about three inches of snow, just enough so that I had to use our "snow blower" to remove the snow from our driveway. For those of you living in countries that don't get snow, a snow blower is similar to a lawnmower, it pick ups the snow and throws it through a tube on the top of the machine off to the side. It makes life a lot easier when you have to remove snow from a drive, or walkway.They say that we're supposed to get some rain this week too, which means that it will melt away most of the snow. Spring is right around the corner, so I'm not that concerned about the weather anymore.

How about this. We reward our daughter Tiana when she does really good in school, by buying her a special gift, something that she really wants usually does the trick. This time she wanted a new cellphone, (cheap one) something like the one that I use. I always try to buy her gifts on-line rather than at the store, because she gets an even bigger thrill when the mailman delivers it to her. It got so bad once that she started to treat the mailman like she does Santa Claws! LOL We straightened her out though, so now she's okay again. All she talked about this morning when I took her to school was her cellphone that the mailman was going to bring to her...gosh, I get a thrill out of it myself, seeing her get so excited. You may want to try ordering something for your kids on-line once in a while when you want to reward them, I think that you may even get an even bigger thrill out of it yourself! The excitement is in the waiting, not what, or how much the item costs, that's not important. It's much better to reward a child for doing something right, than to discipline a child when they do something wrong!

I think how precious little children are, and I tell our two little girls what I think of them all the time. I don't go to bed without thinking of what we did together that day, and how much it meant to me as a father, an older father at that. yet, I still get goose bumps just knowing that someone loves me, needs me and how much we love one another.
When I take Tiana to school most of her classmates are outside waiting for the bell to ring so they can go inside, when they see me, they run over and throw their arms around me and squeeze me real tight! I can't help wondering whether they get the love that they need at home, and if their parents hug them before sending them off to school. Sure, I buy the needy children things that they need once in a while, but I don't think that that is why they hug me, I just think that they need to feel loved by someone. My daughter aways goes to school with a hug and an "I LOVE YOU BABY" kiss form her old dad before I leave her there. I hope that when the time comes that I'm no longer with them anymore, that they will carry the love that I have for them throughout their lifetimes.
Life is so short, so don't miss a minute to share your love with your children. These little people don't stay that way for long, so enjoy them while they're still young, and never ever leave them without a hug, and be sure tell them that you love them. This is so important.

We all have colds!

Well, it finally happened, we've all caught bad colds! Just when I thought that I'd escape this winter without one, "bam" it got me too! I guess that it's apart of winter that most of us can look forward to, yet it's the part that I hate the most about winter weather.
We're supposed to get more snow in the next couple of days or so. I can tell you that I really would like to see some sunshine again. I hope that you have better weather than we have wherever you live. It's always nice to have snow at Christmas, but I wish old Santa would take it back to the North Pole with him when he leaves!

Barack Obama's reinstates funding for UNFPA

It seems that we have some people that do not understand why Barack Obama reinstated assistance for the UNFPA. People, you have an Internet connection, yet you don't do your homework before condemning our presidents decision to refund UNFPA.
Many people only look at one aspect of the program, abortion. Abortion, is only a small part of what UNFPA does for woman/children and is only used as a last resort to saving the life of the mother.

UNFPA also educates people on the use of contraceptives in order to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Without UNFPA many woman would die in childbirth from improper birthing techniques/conditions. Mothers give birth in mud/bamboo huts in dirty conditions by a midwife who has no chance of saving either the baby or mother should something bad happen. By having a UNFPA clinic close by, many are saved and go on to productive lives.

Diseases such as Aids, Malaria, Measles, and many other life threatening diseases are also treated free of charge by the UNFPA.

UNFPA inoculates small children against all major diseases, which insures them a greater chance for survival, better health and a better life.

Woman receive information on contraceptive measures, so they will not continue to have babies that they cannot support.

Many mothers in third world countries are teenagers and some are even younger!

Teenagers receive needed counseling from the UNFPA so they don't become pregnant. Many already know or have a teenage friend who already has a baby, only to grow up in poverty and ill health without the UNFPA!

The church is one of the main "obstacles" standing in the way of teaching women/teenagers about the use contraceptives.

My own mother died in childbirth with me at only 32 years of age. After her passing my father ran back to his mother in Canada, leaving us to fend for ourselves. We all wound up being raised by a single person, not a family. My sister was raped at 13 years old, my other sister contracted TB and spent her entire teenage years in a hospital. I won't tell you what happened to me, but it was also very bad.
Why am I telling you this? Because had my mother had better care such as the UNFPA provides she would not have died. If anyone should have died, it should have been me. Abortion was illegal at the time of my birth in the USA. With her passing it caused the entire famy to break apart and it was the beginning of the end of our family.
You have to ask yourself this question. If your mother/wife was laying there suffering like my mother was and the doctors told you that without an abortion she would surely die, what would you choose to do? Tough question isn't it? My mother was left to die a miserable slow death, she blead to death one hour after I was born and held me in her arms for most of that hour.
You could find yourself in that situation someday too, but remember, if mother dies, everyone looses like our family did, and the remainder of the family will suffer a life long fate. Our family still suffers today, and we still have to talk out our problems every time we meet.
You probably have a "normal" family and have never had to deal with a situation like what I just described, so you don't know what one key death can do to a family, but just loose that person in your life and see what happens to you..it isn't a very pretty picture!

More than 180 developing countries around the world support the UNFPA and Obama knew how important keeping these clinics open was. Unlike George Bush and Ronald Reagan who only looked at the UNFPA with tunnel vision, there was much more to loose by not funding these clinics. Aids is spreading worldwide and in coming years a pandemic is inevitable. These clinics stand as a first line of defense against the deaths of millions of people when a pandemic occurs. They must be maintained.

Please keep an open mind as you watch the video below on what UNFPA is doing in the Philippines. Maybe after learning the "truth" about Baracks Obamas decision to reinstate funding to the UNFPA, you'll begin to understand how little abortion plays a part, and how important funding the UNFPA is to all of us.

The UNFPA is all about saving and enriching the lives of the less fortunate people of the world. Education is the key to ending poverty and the promotion of good health.

Remembering Alaska Airlines flight 261

It all started when my wife and I decided to fly to Seattle Washington to pick up our car that had been stored there while I worked for Boeing.
On the morning of January 31ST 2000 we boarded a plane in Los Angeles bound for Seattle Tacoma Airport. The flight went smoothly, except for a loud "bang" about half way into the flight. The Captain didn't announce that anything was wrong, but the passengers did however become completely silent until the plane landed. Believe me. you could have heard a pin drop! Anyway, we did land safely, so we caught a cab to our motel in Everett.
Upon arrival , we noticed that a TV was on in the background and there was a lot of excitement and confusion coming from the commentators. I couldn't make out what was actually happening at first, because everyone was yelling and screaming. Suddenly, the clerk told us that an Alaska Airlines plane had just crashed off of the California coast. The plane had been experiencing trouble and was trying to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles when the accident occurred. The aircraft was an Alaska Airlines MD80 en route to San Francisco, ending in Seattle. We had just flown from Los Angeles on Alaska Airlines ourselves, so we were very shocked to say the least! As it turned out, it was a flight just behind ours. Wow, we could have easily been scheduled to be aboard that same flight I thought! Talk about an "Erie" feeling coming over you.
The domed flight turned out to be Alaska Airlines "Flight 261" with 88 people aboard including the crew, originating in Mexico, with a final destination being Seattle.
The plane went out of control after a critical part (jack screw) in the tail section broke off, causing the plane to roll and spin. After a heroic effort by the pilots, they finally lost complete control of the aircraft. They made a final effort to try to regain control of the aircraft by flying the plane completely inverted , but they were unsuccessful. The plane rolled over a couple of times before coming completely inverted and crashing into the Pacific Ocean.

February 13TH, 2009 Buffalo New York, Continental airlines flight 3407 crashed killing all 49 people aboard, plus one person on the ground. A 9/11 widow, Beverly Eckart was aboard and died in the crash.

If anyone reading this post is a relative, or knew someone aboard this ill fated flight, please leave me a message. Together we will not forget the 88 victims of flight 261, and I will answer all messages. God bless all who were lost that day and their surviving families & friends.

When we were aboard our flight, I stuck a small religious card into my pocket that Alaska airlines puts in every seat. It had a prayer on it, so I wanted to keep it as a souvenir. I'm sharing that card with you.

Australian wild fires

I would like to bring your attention to our friends down under (Australia) who are going through some tough times with wild fires. The death toll stands at around 180 right now, but it's expected to surpass 200 before the fires are brought under control.
It seems that the government wasn't prepared for such a large catastrophe.
I once lived in California where wild fires are an every year occurrence, maybe they should get some pointers from the California fire fighters so this doesn't happen again.
I'm sure that our government is keeping a close eye on this developing story. If they need us, we'll be there. We don't turn our backs on our friends...and even our enemy's sometimes. Damn it, we're just good people!

A few days later:
The pain is still being felt by many people who lost a loved one, or someone they knew in one of the worst wild fires that Australians have ever suffered through. Churches are a place for remembering, and a place to ask "why", why did this tragedy happen? There are no easy answers yet, it's going take time to try and figure out the circumstances leading up to the fires, and find out whether they were deliberately set or an act of God..

Barack Obama needs your support

We're on the verge of a new week, maybe our leaders will finally come to an agreement on a stimulus plan and pass it before it's too late for all of us. You do realize that we (the middle class & below) are the ones who'll eventually suffer if something isn't done soon, don't you? This is not a "JOKE" people, this is a real calamity that could happen if our leaders don't act soon. So take this warning seriously.
Most of you have worked a long time to achieve what you have, and all of it could be lost over night...a lifetime of everything that you have gained could just disappear! Barack knows that this is a real threat to the middle class, and he's trying his best to stop it. So please give him your support. If America goes down, we all lose!

Can you believe that McCain/Palin were telling everyone that our economy was "fundamentally strong" just a couple of months ago! If they had succeeded in getting into the White House, we may be in a lot worse shape than we are. Like they say, sometimes it's better to be lucky, than good.

Yes, maybe there really is a God, and he helped us choose the right man for this great crisis that we're in. History will tell us someday whether Barack was the right man at the right time.
Did you know that Abraham Lincoln was also lacking experience and our country was in a crisis then too, many people thought that he too was not the right man for the job. May I remind you that Lioncoln is considered to be the "best" president that we've ever had! Maybe President Obama will be the second!

Rush Limbaugh said that he hopes that Barack Obama fails...if he does fail, we all lose! Do you still want to listen to Rush Limbaugh? He sounds un-American to me. By the way, it won't affect him if Barack fails, he signed a multi-year contract worth over $400 million dollars! That's USD my friends!

Give Obama a chance, you have "everything" to loose! Sorry Rush, but you're wrong!

The Soviet famine of 1932-33

What is the actual cause of the famine in the Soviet Union during 1932-33? Many people argue that it was a policy designed by Stalin for the economic industrialization of Russia. Most major grain producing agricultural areas of the Soviet Union were affected when the peasantry was seized and the grain exported to the west. By doing so 6 to 8 million deaths accrued, bring many people to call it a genocide. Some Russian leaders of today which includes Viktor Yuschenko, argue that it was designed as an attack on Ukraine, therefore it cannot be classified a genocide. Yuschenkos popularity has been in constant decline form 52% in 2004 to below 10% today, leading him to unite the Ukrainian nation against Russia in order to politicize the issue of golodomor.
No matter how the final outcome is determined holodomor or, "mass hunger," caused the suffering of millions of people and the truth should finally be known, so such a thing may never be repeated.
Governments come and governments go and the people in the middle either prosper or suffer by their decisions. The people should never become the victims of governments that use these tactics to push through their own agendas. Please take the time to log on to this website and read for yourself, then decide.
