Man arrested for threats against Obama

I don't know if you heard or not, but a 20 year old man from Denver has been arrested for threatening to assassinate Barack Obama. Timothy Gutierrez sent an email to the F.B.I. just before Obama became president that stated what he planned to do. This guy surely must not have much sense, by sending an email like that to the F.B.I. you're asking to get yourself arrested. He's being held without bail in Denver pending arraignment. If he's convicted, and I don't see how he can miss, he's going to sit in jail for a very long time.
Remember John Hinckley Jr., the attempted assassign of Ronald Reagan? Well, he's still in prison, and may never be freed. What are these guys thinking?
I couldn't believe the people at the McCain/Palin rallies yelling out all those horrific things about, and to do to Barack Obama. Don't they realize that all threats are taken seriously? The F.B. I. is trying to isolate those who yelled threading things about Obama at those rallies. Those people too could get a knock at the door.
Remember, this country is "free", but it's not that free, so you'd better THINK before you open your big mouth and say something that you may regret later! Remember what Ralph Kramden (HoneyMooners)used to say..." I HAVE A BIG MOUTH!
From what the article said, there will be even more arrests connected with threats against Obama.
The next time the Republicans get you juiced up enough to want to yell something out, you had better think twice before you do it, because you're probably breaking the law and you could find yourself spending a lot of time behind bars for it! Word to the wise, it's okay to think it, just don't say it!

40 miles of bad road!

Heavy snow today in Michigan. The school is open, which really surprised me this morning when I woke up. I knew last night that we were going to get hit with a bunch of the white stuff. It started coming down around eleven and has contunued ever since.
I took Tiana to school this morning, we slid all over the road, mostly because I couldn't get traction. Most of the roads, and even the main Hwy were very hazzardous to drive. I have to pick her up at around 3:30 today but the weather being so bad, I'm sure it's going to be an adventure of a ride getting there and back.
I don't know who makes the decision to keep the schools open in such bad weather, but I'm sure that he/she forgot to check the weather forcast for today!
I hope your weather is a lot better than ours is, but if you live east of the Mississippi, then you have to expect this sort of thing each year.
I did hear one positive thing yesterday, the "boys of spring" are getting ready for spring training...a sure sign that spring is right around the corner! Oh Yeah!!!
If you have to drive today and live in the east as we do, please don't use your "cell phone" while driving, the roads are hazardous enough and you need to be focused at all times.
Have a great day, and stay safe my friends!

Swimming Pool repair specialists

Well, spring is right around the corner and people will start to think about recreational things to do. If you happen to be lucky enough to own your own swimming pool and live in the Naples, Orlando FL area of the country, then I've got some great news for you. Have your swimming pool inspected from time to time. You could have a Swimming Pool Leak and not even know it! Maybe some of your tiles have become cracked with use, which can also lead to problems later. Tiles come loose over time, water pipes can become clogged and corroded, or even cracked, so they need to be inspected and replaced. Most people really don't know who to call when they have a swimming pool problem.
The correct thing to do, is not to wait for a problem to develop in the first place. So have your pool inspected periodically by a trained service professional. Problems left uncorrected can become bigger and much more costly to fix in the future.
I want to let you know that there is a really good pool service company who maintains swimming pools in your area. They do really good work and everything is guaranteed to your satisfaction. They not only maintain swimming pools, they also sell many products related to swimming pools.
Warning! Never dive into a swimming pool until you make sure that there is a enough water in it first!
So log on today and take a look at what they have to offer, you won't be sorry you did, and have a great summer!

Bush Tax cuts and more......

Hello, I hope that you all have now seen the "first dance" video performed for Barack Obama and his wife Michelle and performed by Beyonce. It was stunning to say the least. If that video doesn't move you, then nothing will.
The new week begins tomorrow. I'm sure that we'll hear more about the economy, the middle east and whatever happens in between. I wish we could start just one week off with some good news for a change, but that would be asking too much of this crazy world that we live in. I've been on this planet for a long time and the one thing that has caught my attention, the further we move ahead, the more complex things get. They wonder why people use drugs & alcohol. Our jobs are leaving at a fast rate for Mexico, India, China and thanks to George Bush, South America. Homes are being foreclosed on, banks are failing and tomorrow, we'll, who knows if there will be a tomorrow for most of us. All we have to look forward to is, Barack Obama doing the things needed to create some new "green jobs" which cannot be outsourced, and turning our economy around. N.A.F.T. A. and other free trade treaties should all be "canceled" and rewritten to protect American workers and slow the exodus of our jobs.
I wonder sometimes where our children will find a good paying job in the future. We prep them for college, yet at the same time we "allow" good paying jobs to leave the country! Corporations use this leverage to lower employee wages, eliminate health insurance and cut back on hours an employee can work. If employees complain too much, then they threaten to close their doors and move their jobs overseas! These corporate CEO's at the same time give "themselves" huge multiple million dollar bonuses and collect big paychecks all the while their employees suffer with low wages and no health insurance! This doesn't sound like the America that I grew up in, and something has to change.
The next time you hear someone complain about Obama abolishing those George Bush tax cuts for those big American companies, just remember that those same companies are the ones responsible for sending your jobs overseas faster than you can wink your eye. Believe me, they're not interested in creating jobs here, what they want is to USE the "slave labor" in China and other third world countries in order to pad their own bank accounts! So why should we reword them with Bush tax cuts? This seems like a no brainier to me. They do not deserve a tax break as long as they continue to send our jobs overseas.
So don't be fooled by what the Republicans tell you, they're in the pockets of big business. Tax cuts should be the reward for those who save our jobs, not outsource them!

Good luck Mr. 44TH President!

I hope that you were able to watch Barack Obama become our 44TH President yesterday. Here's something of interest that I didn't know. Barack Obama became our 44TH President even before he took the oath of office! Strange but true, the new presidency starts at precisely 12:00 noon on January 20TH, whether he has taken the oath or not. So actually he was already president at the stroke of noon...he may not have even known this himself. I guess the oath is just a formality.
It was very touching to see him dance with his wife (the first lady) Michelle Obama last night at his first inaugurational ball. Beyonce sang "At Last", an old song originally recorded by Etta James several years ago. I think that many people had a tear in their eye as they watched the first couple embrace..they surely seemed to be in love!
I can't wait to hear the reaction from world leaders as they comment on our new president.
I just happened to be around when John F. Kennedy was president and Camelot began..I see many "similarities" in this couple, so maybe we're seeing Camelot revisited!
Let's hope for a better world to live in, where people learn to talk out their differences, rather than the use of force. Everyone has a story to tell, if you just take the time to listen...it is the time for this country to listen.
Something that I heard the other day deserves to be mentioned again. A man here in Detroit was asked why he wanted to go to the inauguration so badly, when a mechanic told him that his car was in such poor shape that it probably would not make the trip to Washington. He said and I quote: American ends in "ican"...not i-can't. By the way, it did make it to Washington!
So please remember this when we help our new president rebuild this great country of ours. It's going to take some time, so be patient, nothing good ever comes easy. But if we roll up our sleeves and work together, we'll get it done, we have to for our children's sake!
God bless our new leaders and their families and may they have the wisdom to make correct decisions that affect us all.

Whether you're a Republican, Democrat or Independant, let's give our new president the support he needs to make the necessary judgements to get our counrty back on track.
If you missed "The Dance" here is the video.

Great money saving website

When I come across websites that can save my readers money, I surely like to post about them. If any of you have been following my Blog for a while, then you know that this is true. Anyway, today I have come across another money saving website that is a "can't miss" if you want the best possible deals and save some hard earned cash in the process. Lets' face it, the economy is in a shambles, and we don't know how long it's going to take for it to recover. Our politicians tell us that they're on the right track to fixing it, but I ask you this...when has any politician fixed anything? Seems to me that they throw money into a black hole, then point their figgers at one another when it doesn't work! Sound familar? I thought so, so I wouldn't hold my breath for any good news any time soon if I were you.
So I say to you my friends, do your home work and find the best website deals available when you choose to part with some of your hard earned cash.
This website that was brought to my attention is a very unique website that finds the best deals on the Internet for you, unlike "Google" which only lists paid advertisers, this website will list all the websites that offer deals on items that you're searching for. By listing every website pertaining to the items that you're searching for, you have the best chance of getting the best deal available, and in turn keeping some cash in your pocket!
The website that I'm boasting about is actually a search engine type website. You log on to this website, then pick an item, such as automotive for example, or computers and software, something that you want to search for. Then you get a listing of all the websites offering the best deals on that particular item. Need something for your children? Pick the icon for kids..walla, there you go! It's that simple. Once you log on and see how it works. you will not want to go anywhere else again when you're looking for a deal on the Internet.
Things are getting better all the time on the Internet, if you know where to go, this website let's you know where to go. Saving money in this economy is in the best interest of all of us, so please I beg of you, take the time to check out this website, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain, and best of all, you won't be sorry that you did.
When you make your first money saving deal, please come back to my Blog and tell me about it. Let's let others know where they too can save some money. If we all band together and pass on money saving information like this to others, maybe we can all survive this down turn in our nations history. We must all "just get along" and help one another out, this information is a good first step in that direction.
Remember, by letting me know that you benefited by my posts, will ensure that I'll keep posting these unique money saving websites for you and others. Have a great day, and now go save some money, and don't forget to pass the word!

Very cold weather in Michigan today!

Man, is it cold here in Michigan today. The temperature went down to zero last night and the weather man says that it could get much colder in the next two days. I just hate to take Tiana to school in this weather, so spring can't come soon enough for me.
Some of you live in warmer claimants than us, but your summer weather can be your greatest concern, with bad storms or maybe even tornadoes. We don't have that type of weather in Michigan very often, cold and snow is our biggest problems to deal with.
I lived in California once, where earthquakes and fires were the two things to worry about. I guess that no place is perfect, so we just have to put up with it. Nothing scared me more however than an earthquake though, if you haven't experienced one, then you don't want too ether!

Motorcycle parts website

I would imagine that everyone who loves to ride a motor cycle is really chomping at the bit for spring to roll around so they can get their bike back on the road. Since it's still winter, especially here in the eastern part of the United States, it's a good time to spruce up your bike. I know of a great place to find anything and everything to make your bike stand out from the pack, so I'd like to tell you about it.
I sometimes come across specific websites pertaining to motor cycles and motor cycle parts because my three cousins all ride. My son who still rides on occasion was a test rider for Honda once, so I check into these websites to see what new items are available and pass it along to them. Now, since I have a Blog, I can do the same for you too! Believe me, everyone is looking for a deal these days do to this horrific economy.
Now to the good part. I have run across amotorcycle partswebsite that looks pretty darn good for outfitting your bike. I've checked them out and they surely have a heck of a lot of parts and accessories along with very competitive prices. They run special deals all the time, so you have to check back every now and then just to see what they have on sale. I'm going to save this website to my favorites, because sooner or later someone in my family, or a friend will need something for their bike, so I recommend that you do the same. I mean, you just cannot afford to throw your hard earned money away these days.
You'll find tires, Chrome pipes, Helmets for him & her, River Road & Tourmaster Jackets of all types, parts for Harley, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Victory, and more! If you happen to be building a bike or know someone who is, this is a great website to save a buck or two on parts. I mean, what more can you ask for? I could go on and on about this unique website but I'm not going to do that since you're reading this post on my Blog anyway. You should log on to their website for yourself and check out all the great items and gear that they have in stock. This is a candy store for bikers on the web, make no mistake about it, go see for yourself!

Snow, Robbery and lost finger!

Snow everywhere in Michigan today and we're expecting another 3-4 inches tonight! It will be nice to see spring again!

Here's a tip that I use to avoid getting winter colds. When I feel a cold coming on, like sneezing and runny nose, I put a dime sized amount of "Hand Sanitizer" in the palm of my hand and coat the entire inside of my nose with it. Then I wait for a few seconds for it to kill the cold germs. Then I blow my nose..and wallah, no more cold symptoms! I also carry a small bottle in my pocket, just in case I'm out somewhere when a cold decides to strike. It works for me.

Anyway, I just wanted to inform you that my niece who lives in Phoenix (the nurse) came home from work the other day only to find that her home had been broken into. Everything of any value was gone! She said that it took her 8 hours to clean up the mess. She's decided to have an alarm installed, but this is too little too late. Once your home has been broken into, it will never feel safe again.
I know that many Los Angeles gangs have moved into the Phoenix area, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had something to do with the break in. Gangs are also doing "Home Invasions" these days. They really don't care if you're home or not, they just come to your door and knock, you answer, then they show you a gun, they enter your home and tie you up, then kiss your valuables goodbye! By the way, thank God if they don't shoot you before they leave, because sometimes they like to do that too.
I told her that this could be the next step for these criminals, so she shouldn't let her guard down, thugs like this could come back when you least expect it. Remember, a criminal always returns to the scene of the crime. I don't know why they do, but they do.
She can't sell her home and move right now because the economy is so bad in Phoenix, so she's stuck like the rest of us. She also lives alone, so it would be wise for her to get a roommate.
She sold her home in Tennessee to move out there, but it's since lost it's charm for her,so she wants to move back. This just goes to show you, that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

Here's something else. My grandson (Matthew)who is in the Army, was working on the engine of a military vehicle, when another soldier, not knowing that Matt still had his hands in the engine compartment decided to start the vehicle...cutting Matt's finger off! They couldn't save his finger, so now he will go through life minus one finger on his left hand! Boy, I'm telling you, when it rains it pours!

Well I hope that life is treating you better than it is us, I hope too that this is not an indication of bad times ahead ..but in our case it's not starting out so good. We can only wait and see and hope for the best. Have a great week everyone.

Excellent Mobile phone Inernent website

I have some good news for you if you happen to be looking for a new mobile phone, or just thinking about upgrading the one that you already have. Seems like I've stumbled across a terrific mobile phone website with some pretty cool deals just waiting for some smart people like you to take advantage of. I know, if you've been like me, and wondered up to one of those mobile phone stores at your local mall, and the sales guy told you that they've got a great deal for you today. Now hearing this, is a good reason to stop and think for a moment. The fact is, it wouldn't matter what day you wandered up to him, he would still tell you the same thing! Come on now, how many times have you heard this same pitch? It's on the tele, radio, billboards, and buses, and just about everywhere else that you can imagine these days. Quite frankly, if you believe this nonsense, you're probably going to spend more money than you need to and not even know it!
Now here is a fact. The best place to shop for new Mobile Phones is on the Internet, I don't care what anyone else tells you. You won't find a deal any better than on the Internet, period...and since were talking facts..where should you go on the Internet for these great deals? Funny you should ask, this is exactly why I'm putting this post on my Blog, to save all of my readers some hard earned cash.
Now let me recommend a great mobile phone website with some of the best deals around. You won't get ripped off by seeing a better deal somewhere else, because you'll find everything you need on this website.
By the way, what type of phone are you looking for anyway,Blackberry, IPhone ? What color do you like pink, black, red? Well, they've got the color that you're looking for too. Good pricing, you bet, they've got that covered as well.
Listen, this is a "risk free" purchase because they back up everything that they sell. This is a no nonsense company dedicated to satisfying their customers at any cost..."they want you to come back" and the only way to do that is to back up everything that they sell and offer the best service possible.
Now I don't want you to think that I'm just boasting because they've given me some sort of special deal..no, you get the same deal as me or anyone else. They treat everyone the same with the respect and dignity of true mobile phone professionalism.
So don't take my word for it mate, log on for yourself, take a look at the list of phones. You'll surely find just what you're looking for, but if for some reason you don't, then don't be afraid to ask one of their knowledgeable professionals to help you. They'll be more than happy to do what ever it takes to make you happy.
Let's face it, they want you to come back and also tell all your friends about them. Believe me, there is a difference in mobile phone companies, there are true professionals (like these people), then there are the other guys. Remember the last time you had that cheap mechanic fix that "rambling wreck" outside? Okay, now you know what I mean. So don't make that same mistake again with your mobile phone company! Remember one thing when you decide to make your next mobile phone purchase, you get exactly what you pay for.
By the way, tell them Rick sent you from the "My Daily Trails" Blog. Thanks for reading and please come back again!

Goodbye 2008!

2008 was a bad year all the way around. For our family it was particularly bad, since we lost two of our people. On the 19TH of December my Nieces daughter (Holly)passed away, and on Christmas day my wife Ana lost her beloved uncle. They found him dead on the floor of an apparent heart attack, right after enjoying Christmas dinner with her family in the Philippines!
You may also remember that Ana lost her other uncle Philip a couple of years back too, when a neighbor and his three sons hacked him to death with "bolo knifes", then "beheaded" him before being jailed. It was a brutal murder that has yet to be resolved. Two of his sons are still at large and yet to be captured.

With me, my nephew (Walter)passed away last summer, and if you've read my last post, his younger brother (Wes)has contracted "lung cancer" and he too is not expected to live much longer!
My sister must be pulling her hair out, because she's lost her husband and two of her sons just in the past four years! If this isn't a test of faith, then I don't know what is.

In 2008 My Grandson (Matt) received orders for deployment (Army)to Afghanistan in early 2009.

So all is not peaceful in Paradise, believe me. I hope that you have not experienced such misfortunes as our family has, but we go on no matter what happens...because that's all that anyone can do. Remember, we still have small children to raise and people to take care of (Philippines) who are less fortunate than us. So as long as we live and breath, we have obligations to help our less fortunate relatives, this Ana and I are committed to do.

So take a moment to reflect on this past year and be glad that it's over with. Let's all hope for better things to come in this new year and the following years to come.
If you are a religious person, then please pray for our new president, he sure has great challenges ahead, and he's going to need all the help that he can get from the Americans people. This won't be easy to get out of, so everyone has to be patient...it took a long time for this "melt down" to accure, and it's going to take an equal amount of time to correct it. Nothing is going to happen over night.

Here's something of interest: Take the time to read about the pastor who tried to live the life of Jesus for one year, who also voted for Obama. Thanks for taking the time to read my Blog, and have a great week.

Dying from tobacco abuse...

Well, did you all make it through 08 alright? I hope so. I guess that we should all be glad that 2008 is finally behind us. For us over here in Detroit, we have to live with a football team that set an unbreakable record, going 0-16...can you imagine how bad that you have to be, not to be able to win only one game? LOL Honestly, this year the Lions are "guaranteed" that they cannot do any worse, but if it were possible, I think that this useless team would go for that record too!

Anyway here's something worth talking about, I want to make a follow up to a post that I made some time back, about my nephew who passed away, cigarettes diagnosed as the cause. Now his younger brother (who also smokes heavily) has also contracted CANCER from smoking! He will know this month how much time that he has left too. I went over to see him when he was diagnosed with lung tumors, and even then, when they still thought that the doctors could do something (operate) to save his life...he continued to smoke! I told my sister, that you cannot help someone who won't help themselves! You can talk until you're blue in the face, and nothing changes! Talk about STUPID!
The real problem is, most people think of smoking cigarettes as a "habit" rather than an addiction to tobacco. I was once a smoker as well, but I quit smoking after the MMA published several articles about the hazards of smoking tobacco. Like drug abuse, some people are so addicted to tobacco that they may have to eventually be hospitalized to break this terrible addiction. We may see the day when some people who are addicted to tobacco have to be hospiaized to break their addiction to tobacco. They had to do it for alchole addition, so for some people, this may be the only way to save their lives.
Some of you who still smoke cigarettes and are offended by what I'm saying about tobacco, may need to stop and realize that it's not you talking, it's the tobacco. I know this first hand because I was a three (3)pack a day smoker at one time, and I too thought like you....but after you truly quite for good, you'll soon realize that it was true after all...tobacco really can talk, and what it says is...DON'T LISTEN TO THIS GUY, LISTEN TO ME, HAVE JUST ONE MORE CIGARETTE, THEN ANOTHER AND ANOTHER AND ANOTHER and on and on it goes...it never stops, until like my nephew, you wind up on a cold hard slab somewhere! Yes my friends, smokers really do finally quit smoking!
