Special Olympics yesterday

Hi everyone, I'm sorry that I haven't posted as much as I used to, but as you know I've been sick with a bad cold. I'm getting much better now, however the weather here in Michigan is still changing daily, one day it's very hot and the next day it's either rainy or very cold. Today Wednesday, it's both cold with rain expected tonight.
Anyway what I really wanted to talk about was, Michigan schools had their annual "Special Olympics" yesterday. Our daughter "Tiana" takes part because she's suffering from a speech disorder which prevents her from going to a regular school. Ordinary schools don't offer speech therapy in Michigan, so she must attend a special school for disabled children. Let me tell you, be thankful if you have a normal healthy child, because we saw many very handicapped children yesterday. I don't know how families cope with a special needs child, it's hard enough for us to cope with the disorder that our daughter has. Some children have autism or cannot walk by themselves, some seem unaware of their surroundings and others are totally mentally and or physically handicapped. You look at their parents and wonder, how do they do it? I can see where this could very easily tear a family apart. So the next time you see someone physically or mentally challenged, be aware of what their families have to endure.
The picture is of our two daughters, Tiana & Hannah 8 & 2 years old, taken yesterday at Special Olympics
