Snow, Robbery and lost finger!
Snow everywhere in Michigan today and we're expecting another 3-4 inches tonight! It will be nice to see spring again!
Here's a tip that I use to avoid getting winter colds. When I feel a cold coming on, like sneezing and runny nose, I put a dime sized amount of "Hand Sanitizer" in the palm of my hand and coat the entire inside of my nose with it. Then I wait for a few seconds for it to kill the cold germs. Then I blow my nose..and wallah, no more cold symptoms! I also carry a small bottle in my pocket, just in case I'm out somewhere when a cold decides to strike. It works for me.
Anyway, I just wanted to inform you that my niece who lives in Phoenix (the nurse) came home from work the other day only to find that her home had been broken into. Everything of any value was gone! She said that it took her 8 hours to clean up the mess. She's decided to have an alarm installed, but this is too little too late. Once your home has been broken into, it will never feel safe again.
I know that many Los Angeles gangs have moved into the Phoenix area, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had something to do with the break in. Gangs are also doing "Home Invasions" these days. They really don't care if you're home or not, they just come to your door and knock, you answer, then they show you a gun, they enter your home and tie you up, then kiss your valuables goodbye! By the way, thank God if they don't shoot you before they leave, because sometimes they like to do that too.
I told her that this could be the next step for these criminals, so she shouldn't let her guard down, thugs like this could come back when you least expect it. Remember, a criminal always returns to the scene of the crime. I don't know why they do, but they do.
She can't sell her home and move right now because the economy is so bad in Phoenix, so she's stuck like the rest of us. She also lives alone, so it would be wise for her to get a roommate.
She sold her home in Tennessee to move out there, but it's since lost it's charm for her,so she wants to move back. This just goes to show you, that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
Here's something else. My grandson (Matthew)who is in the Army, was working on the engine of a military vehicle, when another soldier, not knowing that Matt still had his hands in the engine compartment decided to start the vehicle...cutting Matt's finger off! They couldn't save his finger, so now he will go through life minus one finger on his left hand! Boy, I'm telling you, when it rains it pours!
Well I hope that life is treating you better than it is us, I hope too that this is not an indication of bad times ahead ..but in our case it's not starting out so good. We can only wait and see and hope for the best. Have a great week everyone.
