“Barack the Magic Negro,”

Did any of you hear about the parody song put out by GOP candidate Chip Saltsman about Barack Obama? If not, you can read about the song by clicking on the link I've provided. He is trying to say that it's just a "joke" and nothing is meant by it, yet anyone with common sense knows that that's not true at all. Listen, I grew up in a Republican household and I know how blacks are thought of, and "negro" is not what is used...the "N" word is what they really mean, believe me I know first hand.
I decided long ago that I didn't want to live my life by thinking of minorities like that. I believe that all people are created "equal", and to prove that I really mean what I say, I bought a house in an almost black neighborhood! Now what do you think about that?
Yes, I stand by my beliefs and vote that way too. I thought that Obama was the best candidate, so I voted for him, it had nothing to do with his color. Had the GOP had a better candidate running, then I may have voted the other way. But the GOP didn't, and I just couldn't see taking the chance on Sarah Palin becoming president. This woman was not qualified to be either vise president or "my gosh" just think of it..our President! Talk about McCain's running mate choice...Dah!
Joking about the color of a persons skin boils my blood and this should not be accepted in a 1st world society, whether you're a Republican or a Democrat. Stand up for what is right, and joking about a persons race is just plain wrong.
Many of you who read my Blog are from the Philippines, so don't think that you are thought of as "equals' either by some whites. Most of the GOP members are whites and they prefer it that way, so don't kid yourself. But please..they do want your votes come election time!
This "idiot" Saltsman hopefully will pay the price at the ballot box and this sort of thing should not be tolerated. Rush Limbaugh is another one who needs his mouth washed out with soap. These people do nothing to unite Americans, but do everything to divide us.
To be noted: Saltsman’s candidacy for national party chair is endorsed by Huckabee and fellow Tennessean Bill Frist, the former Senate majority leader.

We won't forget you this Christmas!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone not to forget our troopes around the world this Christmas. For our family this is going to be a sad Christmas because my grandson will be deploying to Afghanistan (Army)so he won't be with us this Christmas, yet he'll be in our hearts. Sometimes we take this life that has been given to us very lightly, that is until something happens, then we are suddenly reminded that it doesn't last forever. Sometimes loved ones that we think will always be with us are suddenly taken away...it's not always the old that go first! I saw this happen to my Aunt who raised me. I received a call one night that her son had suddenly passed away, he was only 45 years old. He died of a heart attack the day after Christmas. I had to break the news to her. It was the sadist day of her life. You couldn't imagine the look on her face when I told her what had happened. No one wants to out live their children, and no one knows the pain a parent suffers from an experience like that. She never really recovered and spent many years crying for her son, I had to endure seeing her slowly loose her will to live. Then she finally died too, I believe from a broken heart.
So this Christmas please remember our loved ones that can't be with us, either because they are serving our country elsewhere, or have since passed on. We will not forget them. Please play video below. (speakers on)

Helping the children

I've been buying some hats and gloves for some needy children at Tiana's school. Everyday when I took her to school I noticed that a few of the children had no hats or gloves on, even though it was very cold outside. I asked the teacher's aide what the deal was. She told me that most of their parents smoke and drink beer, so there isn't enough money left over to buy them proper winter gear! I couldn't believe my ears, so I decided to do something about it. I've taken care of three or four children so far and still have a couple to go. I just cannot understand how cigarettes and beer come before your children's needs. To me, this is just another form of child abuse. I wish that they'd outlaw cigarettes. I see parents all the time driving around with their windows rolled up, smoking and small children in the car with them! In California, where we used to live, people are starting to wise up about cigarettes, but not over here in Michigan. This is really sad and bad for the children of these parents. This is something you should not teach your kids to do, yet sadly some people just don't care. Please play video below.

Gift Cards for that special someone

I know that the economy is not in the greatest shape, and it's the Christmas Holiday season once again. So what is the best way to handle this current economic down turn and still be able to give the special people in your life a gift? Well I've been thinking, if I wanted something myself, I'd much rather have someone give me gift cards rather than some of the weirdest things people buy. Just the other day I was at K-Mart, and as usual, they have those cheap displays down their center isles, you know the ones...with those cheap looking watches and jewelry, and boy was everybody clustering around the tables! Now, I know that you and I would never buy such cheap merchandise to give as gifts. But I think that it's the economy that's driving people to spend their money on this "junk". Nut's to that idea. I'll bet you that almost all those gifts wind up being taken back to the store after Christmas, unless they wind up going to "Purple Heart!
Some people just don't think when they buy this stuff, so you must ask yourself, would I want to receive a gift like this? Most always the answer will be "No", so why buy it in the first place? The only real answer is to give gift cards so they can purchase whatever they really want. Year after year people receive exactly what they don't want on the Christmas, so why not change that and really make someone happy this year?
To be honest with you, I have come across a website called Blackhawk Network that specializes in gift cards, and they know what a person really would like on the holidays...gift cards, so they can get what they really want, not some junk that they have to take back and stand in line for hours! Let's get something straight right off the bat. There have been rumors floating around that some stores are not accepting gift cards this year due to the economy, but this is not true at all, in fact in many cases they prefer gift cards. So please tell all your friends that gift cards are here to stay and that all the retail stores are more than happen to accept them. Blackhawk Network wants you to know that this is the easiest and best way of giving this holiday season. You can find the top sellers, browse by category and even design your own special gift cards on their website!
I've run around from store to store trying to find a gift for someone only to hear later that they've taken the gift back or given it away! So why get that feeling in your stomach when that happens to you? Don't delay, the holidays are almost here, go log on today to the Gift Card Mall website, buy your cards and put your mind to rest. Let everyone else trade those long lines only to buy something that someone doesn't want anyway!

Young lady 22 from Philippines swept out to sea in Oregon

A young lady 22 years old from the Philippines was swept out to sea in Oregon right before her fiancee was about to propose marriage to her. I have a hard time understanding this myself, but I guess these things happen. It would seem to me that if he took her to the ocean, he'd have better control over the situation. Listen, I used to live in Southern California and went many times to the ocean, where there were high cliffs without any guard rails," so high that anyone falling over the edge would surely die, yet you become aware of the danger and stay away from the edge. In Oregon it's well known for "rough seas," so anyone who lives there should know the danger and not go so close to the waters edge. Some people just never respect the danger of the ocean, mainly because of it's beauty, yet it can be deadly! If you don't respect the sea, surely, sooner or later you'll pay the price. I'm so sorry that this happened to this young lady, this is something that should not have happened. The first thing that anyone does when going to the ocean is check to see if the sea is calm, if not, surely there will be rip tides, and if you're swept into the water, there is nothing that anyone can do to save you. Please read the "link" for the entire story.
