School boy dies..

We had to keep Tiana home from school today because she has another bad cold. You know how that goes, one kid gets it, then they all get it! Anyway, she's in bed sleeping right now.

We received some really bad news from her school yesterday. It seems that a fourth grade boy suddenly died yesterday morning, right before he was to get ready for school. They didn't say what happened to him, so at this point, I only know that he suddenly died. This just goes to show you how fast life can end, whether your young or old.
This tragedy reminds me of a story about a young lady who I met in Long Beach California several years ago. At the time the woman who raised me (my aunt) was confined to a nursing home there, so the mentioned young lady decided to go with me to see her. As we talked, she told us a story about how she had a sudden heart attack at age 28! I was shocked at what she said, 28 and already had a heart attack..wow! She said that she was walking down a street in Long Beach when suddenly it happened, she didn't know what it was at the time, but she later found out after visiting her doctor. She said that she no longer takes life for granted, I guess anyone would feel that way.

If I find out what happened to the young boy, I'll post it. Tiana said she saw him at recess on the playground, but didn't actually know him. Tiana is only in second grade.

The holidays are coming!

Well, the weather is quite cold here in Michigan today, but the snow has held off for now. We did get a few snow showers the other day, but they didn't last, I guess those snowy days are right around the corner though.
So how have you and your family been? I hope well and in good spirit, since the holidays are right around the corner. They say, do to bad economic times, that sales this year will be well below average. As for us, we have small children, so we don't really need to spend a lot of money on them. Small inexpensive toys will do the tick. Some of you that have large families and older children will find everything very expensive, so it wouldn't take much to run your expenditures into orbit. Please be carful.
I like what people do in the Philippines on holidays. Bring their families together for a nice dinner, spend quality time with them and reminisce about old times. Life is very short, so we should spend as much time as possible with loved ones than we do. Before you know it, one of them will be gone, and you won't get a second chance. We as Americans made the horse famous in all those westerns movies, in turn every kid dreamed of someday owning one for themselves. As adults some of us were lucky enough to make that dream come true. If you are one of these very lucky people, then don't mess around on the cheap when it comes to your horse, do the right thing and take care of the animal the way you would take care of your child. Your horse depends on you for everything, so give it the best.

It seems like new and exciting websites are popping up on the Internet all the time. So here's my latest "find" that I want to share with you. I know that many of you will be able to use this website right away. Anyway, here's what I've found. I've come across a sports & out doors website that I want to tell you about, which you can access right from your own computer! Wow, how cool is that? Since we live in Michigan, out doors activities are common for us. We do not like to stay inside in winter. We have a couple of out doors & sports stores near our house, but sometimes when we've driven all the way over there, they didn't have what we were looking for, making the trip useless! I can't tell you how many times I've driven all the way over there only to find out that they are either out of the item that we were looking for, or they don't carry it at all. Oh, the salesman is helpful and gives us ideas of where we can go and find the item, only to find out after "driving forever" that they don't have the product either! I've gone through this more times than I'd like to say. Now, this is not going to happen anymore since I've found this new on-line store. I won't have to waist gas and time any longer when I need something. If any of you have experienced the frustrations that I have, then I recommend that you check this website out and put it in your favorites as well for future use. Christmas is right around the corner, so it would be a good idea to log on today and take a look at what they have. Man, I can't tell you everything that they have, my post would be too long. However you can log on for yourself and browse to your hearts content. Snow in Michigan!

Well we had our first snow yesterday. I looked out the window around noon and down she came, flakes as big as half dollars! The weatherman says that we'll get snow showers all week long, but nothing will stay on the ground because it's too warm. We took the kids outside to play in it and took some pictures and video, they had a ball..but the snow was kind of wet so they couldn't play in it long.
Anyway, here it is another week and getting closier to Thanksgiving. We'll buy a turkey sometime this week. Tiana has been asking us to get a turkey over and over, she just loves big dinners, pie with all the trimmings. I wish you all a good week and thanks for taking the time to visit my Blog.

I have some really good information for Bloggers who like to include a picture in their post. Now I know that some of you didn't know this, but don't worry because I've found an answer for this problem. There is a website with many free blog pictures that you can use legally. I just took a look at this website for myself and found many high quality pictures that would enhance any Blog. So please log on to this website and take a look for yourself like I did, believe me you'll find tons of high quality pictures that are available for you to use. No need to take the chance any longer that someone may find out that you're using one of their pictures without written permission, and then get yourself into big trouble. All the pictures are licensed, optimized and ready to use. So, all you really have to do is copy and paste a piece of the image code, you no longer need to resize or upload an image file. This takes the fear out of using a picture off the Internet if you don't know whether or not it's copyrighted.

Yes we can...yes we did!

I want to take the time to thank all of you who voted for "change" in America. Last night we made history, but make no mistake about it, the challenges ahead are going to be tough. I cannot remember any person becoming president with such problems to face. Barack is a level headed person, so I'm sure that he is the right person to lead us out of this dark moment in our history. We needed someone with Barack’s temperament and level headiness to take on the challengers that we are facing, so I believe with him at the helm, there is nothing that we can't do.

For those of you who voted for John McCain, or just couldn't bring yourself to support a minority for president, we will give you a second chance, because that's what Barack would want us to do. Olive branch: Please get on board the ship of "Hope" with us, because there will be a new day with wonderful things to come. There is nothing that we can't do together!

About "color" in this great country we call America: Because of Barack Obama, we are no longer white, black, yellow, red, or brown...we are only RED, WHITE and BLUE! From here on in these are the only colors that we should ever worry about.

I want to also remind you of something that is still alive and well. Yesterday two people tried to start a fight with me, seemingly because I had on a Barack Obama T-shirt. I was stunned to tell you the truth, but I did not respond to any of their remarks. I think that this is something to always keep in the back of our minds, that there are still people out there that would try to do harm to Barack.

So a new day is about to begin, a day of "hope" with doors opening for all people with new ideas, no matter what color or race they are, to re-build this country to its full potential...yes we can, yes we did!
