There will "NEVER" be another George Carlin

This is a post that brings tears to my eyes, and I'm sorry to have to write it.

Sunday 6/22/2008 Santa Monica CA. One of the "best ever" commedians passed away, George Carlin. I've followed George for most of my life and never missed an opportunity to watch him perform. He was an "American Original" the likes that will never be seen again. He prefered to use language that most of us cringe at, but we've all heard most of our lives..he was just honest about it. Now tell the truth, that you've never used the "F" word, or at least heard it throughout your lifetime. Remember, God will strike you dead if you lie!
George could use such words and make us laugh . Why, you ask? Because he made us look back at ourselves and see ourselves as we really are...PHONYS! George was the real deal funnyman who took shots at everybody, including God himself. George made a lot of jokes about God, surely God must have enjoyed it too, because he called him home for a gig!
If you haven''t enjoyed one of Georges performances, then just log onto "You Tube"and type "George Carlin". Then sit back and enjoy the show, you won't see anyone like him ever again!. Go get 'em George!

"Saturday Night Live" will rebroadcast a 1975 show with George Carlin as the host this Saturday...don't miss it! Carlin quote: "I think he's up there smiling down at us"

"Walk-in" bathtub website

Do you know someone who has a problem bathing themselves do to: older age, a health problem or maybe even a handicap? If so, I want to tell you about a great new way of bathing that will make that old bathtub obsolete. What I'm talking about is a walkin tub. Todays walk-in tubes are designed for comfort, independence and safety, not to mention "good looks". If you know of someone that's having problems bathing, then please, you owe it to yourself to let them know about these walk-in tubes. Listen, we live in a new age where age is only a number and most of us want to stay as independent for as long as possible, this is just another way of doing so. So please take a look at all the great looking walk-in tubs that are available on this website. Believe me, if you have a loved one that you worry about every time they step into a bathtub, then this is the time to look into a walkin tub. You cannot wait until something happens before you decide to do something! Believe me, you can't put a price on "peace of mind" knowing that your loved one will not slip and fall in one of these tubes. There is absolutely no obligation, so log on today!

Thanks for the "memories"

Thanks to all of you who took the time to read my "Fathers Day" post then left a message. Sometimes it's good to open yourself up to the world (like I did)and let a little sunshine in. We all have dark clouds in our lives sometimes, and some of us choose not to share those memories with others. But then again, sometimes it's better to get it off your chest, in order to let people know that you are "human" too, have a heart, love and are loved, and at the same time acknowledge loved ones from our past. Again, thank you for your comments.

I remember "CHARLES O. ZECH"..my Dad

If you have a great father, today is the day to let him know. With me, my "Dad" decided that he couldn't handle taking care of his family after my mother passed away in childbirth with me, so he quickly moved back to Canada, leaving three children to fend for themselves. Fortunately my aunt decided to take me. My next oldest sister "Connie" had it pretty tough living on and off the streets, until she finally found someone to marry her. She was only thirteen when my mother died. My oldest sister "Shirley" contracted Tuberculosis (TB) and spent all her teenage years in the hospital.
One day a total stranger (Charles Zech)found out that I didn't have a father figure in my life. He felt sad about my dad leaving me alone, so he would come to our house every Sunday and take me somewhere with him. As time went by, he became very close to our family, so he started spending more and more time with us. One day he was invited to move in, since he was at our house all the time anyway. He was one of the gentlest men I've ever known, and I was told that if anyone had 'pure" thoughts in their head, it was him! I never heard him utter a cuss word or anything negative about anyone! Do you know anyone like this? Probably not.
One day while we were gone to the city shopping, my cousin came by to visit, only to find him lying on the living room floor from a heart attack. He survived that attack and life went on for a while. He stopped me one day and hugged me, then asked me...."do you love me"?I was startled, but quickly responded."Yes" I do! He seemed quite happy to hear me say that.
Then one day, in the early morning hours, I heard a terrible groaning sound coming from our living room. As I awoke and went to see what was happening, I suddenly noticed that it was "Uncle Charles" having another heart attack while sitting on our couch, and my aunt was there trying to give him a nitroglycerin pill to stimulate his heart. My aunt (a nurse)was trying everything she could to save his life, but nothing she did was going to save him. He passed away right in front of me and left a big hole in my heart, that has lasted until this day.
I would like to send a song to him on this "Fathers Day" to let him know how much he is still missed, and that I love him as the father he was to me as a boy. I will never forget the times that we had together.

Tobacco has taken my nephews life

More bad news. I was just notified that my nephew (Walter, my sisters oldest son) has passed away from Cancer. She just lost her youngest son (Michael)and her husband (Walter Sr.))last year. She has another son (Wesley)who has lung Cancer from smoking tobacco and another son (Patrick)who has had surgery on his face for Cancer. I tried to warn her several years back about the hazards of smoking tobacco, when I noticed that all her sons were smoking. I just couldn't understand why people would continue to smoke, when all the latest information led any intelligent person to believe that tobacco was a KILLER! When I asked her why they allowed them to smoke inside their home and why they didn't try to talk to them about the hazards of smoking tobacco, the reply I got was: If we tell them that they can't smoke in our house, they won't come and see us anymore! Well, now that they're dying, for sure, they wont come and see you any more! I thought at the time that they just didn't realize the dangers of tobacco use.
Now she's lost some of the people that she loved the most. I wish they had listened to me when I warned them about tobacco, maybe some of this could have been avoided.
Please, if you still smoke TOBACCO, do your best to stop. Your life depends on it along with the ones you love. Once you're gone, your gone and you're NOT coming back! You have one chance to get it right. Today is a great day to STOP SMOKING!

Fact: I was once a three packs a day smoker. If you feel that your right to smoke is no ones elses business, then let me tell you something. That is the "ADDICTION" talking, not you! You think that it's your decision to make, but my friend, it's not..it's the drug! If you are ever able to get completely free from tobacco, remember what I said, "it's the addiction doing the talking"..then and only then, will you be able to realize how powerful tobacco really is! Keep the faith and do all you can to get off the drug.

Routers and much more!

As most of you know, we just recently purchased a new laptop computer for my wife, along with a "router". But you know how it always goes when you buy something, the very next day you'll find a better deal! Well this seems to have happened to us, because I just came across a website similar to "Google" (but much better), this website redirects you to "all" websites listing the products/services that you're interested in, and NOT just "paid" advertisers. Yes, maybe we screwed up by not knowing about this website, but you don't have to. Take the time to log on to this new way to locate the best deals on the web and learn all you can about the products/services that you're looking for. I wish I had known better, so we would have been better prepared before buying a router. The bottom line: there's a good chance that we'd have an even better router today if we had known about this website. Being uninformed and thinking that all routers were the same, we probably didn't purchase the best one for our situation.
Now that I bored you to death with my own personal "screw up" with routers, I want to give you a few facts that should get you interested in checking this website out.
If you happen to be interested in routers like I was, then you'll learn about "access points", Network requirements, which routers give you the best "range" in your home, hot spots, security & safety and much much more! Remember what I did wrong and don't make that same mistake. Do your homework, so no one can sell you an inferior product. Bottom line, sales people make their living selling you whatever they can, sometimes not what you need or want. Like they say: suckers are born everyday...so don't be one of them, be informed!

Schools out/ the weather

This is the last full day of school for Tiana. Tomorrow she'll get out at 11:30AM and Wednesday she gets out at 10:30AM. I'm glad that the school year is about over, because the weather is heating up here in Michigan and they don't have air conditioning at her school. At least we have Central Air, so the kids can get away from the heat.

I hope that none of you live where all the bad weather hit yesterday. I guess many rivers are over flowing their banks We must come to grips with the fact that this is not "normal" and we're screwing up our weather. Our government has to take action fast, if our children are to have any kind of future! Earth Quakes, Tornadoes, and Hurricanes are becoming more frequent, in case you haven't noticed. Watch the weather world wide and you'll get the big picture. Human beings are destroying our planet, there is no other way to put it, and something has to be done.
Now China is going from bicycles to motor vehicles along with several other countries. The demand for gas goes up and "wham-o", more pollution in the air and less gas for everyone else!! I wonder if Richard Nixon had any idea that he was lighting a "Time Bomb" when he "so called" opened up China?
