Sickness & National Health Care

As I've told you before, Tiana (our oldest daughter)has had an on going problem with vomiting. We've taken her to see her Doctor several times without any progress. Last Tuesday she had another Doctor appointment and everything seemed to be okay, until the next day, when she started vomiting again. I was about to take her back to the Doctor, when all of a sudden Ana came down with some sort of illness. She too started vomiting, then diarrhea. Soon Hannah (our baby) also got sick. Suddenly everyone was sick except me! We were thinking that it was really good that at least one of us remained well, but as fate would have it, it didn't take long for me to become ill myself. The two children were only vomiting, but Ana and I also had diarrhea at the same time! It was really bad for a couple of day's, but it seems to have passed now.
Last year right before June, I became so sick that I had to go to the hospital. That bill cost us $2,400.00 for only five hours! You ask me if we need "National Health Care"in this country...umm, I think that bill speaks for itself. Most companies are not offering health care any longer to their workers here in America. If you are one of the lucky ones that still has health care from an employer, be sure that it may not last forever, so please consider your "vote": when the presidential election rolls around this November. Barack Obama has a plan!

Down but not out...

Thanks to all of you who support our troups and remembered the ones not coming home. They really appricate you.

Detroit is down because of job losses, but we're certainly not out. We have the "Red Wings" only two wins away from winning another Stanley Cup! Our basketball "Pistons" are tied up with the Boston Celtics for the right to advance to the finals, and we're all excited about the Michigan Wolverines upcoming football season with their new head coach.
So in a year with more than our share of downers, the economy, high gas prices, the Iraq war etc. we at least have something to distract us from the reality of the moment. Detesters are a tough group of people, no matter what the circumstances are, so don't ever count us out until the final bell rings...and that won't be any time soon!

Please "remember" me.....

Memorial day, the day that we give thanks to all who serve our country, and especially the ones that have served and gave their lives for our freedom. God bless them all.

When I was a small boy a bully used to beat me up just about everyday on my way to school. A neighbor kid (Tommy Brunson) heard what was happening, so he told me that he was not going to let that happen any longer. So every day he would come over and walk me to school, and the bulling stopped. After some time went by Tommy joined the Marines and soon received orders to go to Korea. He had a "fiancee" and they were about to be married, but they decided to postpone the wedding until he returned home. He came home on leave before deployment only to discover that his fiancee was involved with another man! He was devastated. Shortly after he arrived in Korea he and another Marine were killed by an enemy aircraft as they walked along a highway! I carry his picture with me and I will never forget him. He is a true "American Hero", and a wonderful friend...I miss him dearly.

My best friend: "Van Vargas" (Army) was in Vietnam for several months, he survived but has lasting scares from the war!

My family has given much, my grandfather "Herbert Wellington Scharf "(Canadian Army)was surrounded in a tank in the "black forest" in Germany in WW2, his tank was finally rescued after several days, but he never recovered from the trauma and spent the rest of his life in a military hospital, never to know his family again!

My Cousin: "Jimmy Abbatoye" (Army) was in Vietnam for over a year, when he came home he was burned over 90% of his body. When he recovered, no one would give him a job, so he moved to Oregon where many Vietnam veterans live. He told me that one night when he was standing guard he heard a noise coming from the darkness, he fired his weapon and the noise stopped. The next morning he found what was making the noise...not the enemy, but a farmers cow! This bothered him more than the fighting because he said he took the farmers livelihood away from him. He will never be the same again.

My uncle: "Clarke Sutherland" (U.S. Airforce) is now deceased.

My nephew: "Wesley Bacon" (Marine) he too survived and lives near my sister today.

I was also in the military, (U.S. Air Force) I was also lucky, I came home in one piece.

Now here's the latest news; my grandson (Matthew Scharf)went into the military May 23,2008. He joined the Army and is in boot camp in Oklahoma. Our family never runs from a fight and responds when our country needs us. We don't want any pats on the back, because this is what all good Americans do. All we want you to do is, please "remember" that the price of freedom is great, and nothing good comes easy. Someone has to answer the call and pay the price for our freedom. I know that my grandson will stand tall and do his job like a man, because that's the way that he was raised. So please say a special prayer for all our men and women who serve our country and don't ever forget the ones who won't be coming home anymore, because they gave their lives for our freedom.

One more thing, remember all who lost their limbs and/or their buddies, who now live with broken bodies and dreams forever...and not to mention the ones who live with the war inside them everyday. For them the war will never end!

LiveViewGPS

This may be one of the most important posts that I have ever made. For sometime now I've been looking (mostly on eBay) for a tracking device for our daughter Tiana. Children are kidnapped all the time and most of them never come home. I do not want that to happen to her, so like me, I'm sure that you have a loved one that you want to protect too. Well here's some news, I have found a great solution to this terrible problem. I've discovered a website that sells GPS tracking devices for commercial uses, like keeping track of company owned vehicles and or where an item is located en route to it's destination. If you're an outdoor enthusiast, pilot or hiker, you need one of these devices, because it has already saved countless lives since it's debut in 2006. This is a world wide GPS Tracking device. You can keep track of property, or a person anywhere in the world with "no monthly fees"! I'll tell you my friends, I have already saved this website to my favorites and you should too. Please don't wait until something happens before you do something, now is the time, so don't delay a moment longer. Log on to this website today, it just may be the smartest thing you've ever done, and see for yourself what a live view GPS can do for you or your business.

Tiana is better now

Sunday night and all is well in Roseville. I hope you all had a nice weekend wherever you are. It rained off and on over here and was quite cold today. Tomorrow it's supposed to go up to 65 deg's, so we welcome that because I have many things that I want to get done outside.

Tiana seems to be feeling better. I don't know if it was because of the medication or the illness just passed, at any rate she's alot better now and I hope she stays that way.

I talked to my son (Tim)who is now living in Colorado Springs. He seems to be adjusting, but says that the food over there isn't as good as it is over here in Michigan. I guess the old saying still stands.."there is no place like home".
My grandson Matthew (who joined the Army) will visit him for a week before he leaves for basic training. T im says that he'll be really glad to see him because it's been several months since they've seen each together.

I guess that is about all for now. Tomorrow we'll start hearing about the candidates fighting it out again. I do not look forward to hearing it on every TV channel that I turn to, so I'll be glad when it's all over for a while...how about you? Yeah, I thought so.A

Anyway, I wish you all a great week ahead, school is almost over so the kids will be home bugging us for a couple of months...but I wouldn't have it any other way myself!

Peace and happiness

Well the weekend is almost upon us and Mothers day is long gone for another year. I hope that all of you treat mom the same throughout the year as you have for one day. She's gone through alot for you, so don't forget that.

Ana and I went to one of our stores after picking Tiana up from school yesterday. Ana is looking for some special curtain rods for her bedroom. They did have them, but Ana thought that the price was too high, so we'll check another store that I know about, maybe they'll be cheaper. Oh yes, I wanted to also let you know that this store is selling "fireworks" already for our 4TH of July celebration! I couldn't believe it, every year the stores start selling earlier and earlier for the next holiday. Pretty soon all the holidays will run together if this keeps up!

How are things where you are today? I hope peaceful, warm and beautiful. Ana the kids and I want to wish you happiness and tranquility in your lives. Peace and happiness be yours today and always. Until my next post, have a great day!

Happy Mothers Day to my mother and yours too

I just wanted to take the time to wish all the mothers out there a "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY". You see, my mother cannot be here with me today because she gave her life for me in child birth, so I wanted to send a "special" mothers day song to her, because she's in that special place where all mothers go who give their lives for their children. I hope she hears what is in my heart for her. I never knew her nor heard her voice, but she lives in my heart. If you have a living mother, remember to hug her and tell her what she means to you, you only have one mother, so cherish her, you won't have her with you forever. God bless all the mothers today and always.

New medication for Tiana

Saturday morning. We took Tiana to see her Doctor yesterday (a lady)and she gave us a new prescription to try. Seems that she doesn't exactly know what is wrong with her, so she's trying different things. I just hope that this illness comes to an end soon, because it's getting very hard seeing this little girl sick all the time. Thanks to all of you that have voiced your concern about Tiana, we really appreciate it. In a few days I'll post again about how she's doing.
It's very nice here in Michigan today, I hope that the sun is shining wherever you are as well. Have a wonderful weekend.

Tiana is still sick

Our daughter Tiana's health problem continues. She has been sick as I've told you before, we thought that she was over her illness, but this morning she turned up sick again. She vomited again last night, so we're taking her to see the Doctor again at 11:00AM this morning, to see what (if anything) she can do to help Tiana get over this condition. This has been going on now for some time, she's had tests and medication, but she still remains sick. So anyway, I just wanted to give everybody who reads my Blog a "heads up" about this on going health problem. Keep the faith everybody, we'll get to the bottom of this sooner or later. As things progress, I'll post about them. Have a great weekend.

ENGOBI energy chips

Well ,I know that all of you see those "Energy" drinks all over the place these days and many of you spend big bucks buying them day after day, thinking that there is going to be some sort of magic potion in that can that's going to turn you into Superman, only to find out that the "energy rush" you get only lasts for a short time, then the let down comes. Energy drinks are not cheap and many of them promise everything and deliver nothing. So say goodbye to your money my friend, that's about all you're going to get out of energy drinks!
Now don't fret, because I have some good news for you if you've been one of the many people who have been throwing your money away on energy drinks. Anyway, I've come across an alternative to energy drinks called "ENGOBI" energy chips. They're jammed packed with 70% caffeine, much more than the canned drinks have, to give you a lift and keep you up all day long. These super chips also tast good and come in two flavors, Lemon Lift and Cinnamon Surge. Yes, "ENGOBI energy chips will keep you going all day long. So go take a look at the ENGOBI's website and see for yourself what these amazing chips are all about, and don't forget to tell all your friends and family about them too!

High Gas prices are killing us!

It's raining, it's pouring the old man is snoring! If you're old enough to remember that phrase, please don't tell your age. LOL Anyway, we just came back from the Mall and it was raining like "you know what", Ana wanted to look for some pillow covers for her bed, there is a big sale going on right now at Sears, up to 70% off.
On our way back I noticed that gas had taken another big jump, so I decided to stop and fill up again. I refill the tank every time it gets down to 3/4 of a tank. That way it's not as painful to my wallet. I'm starting to see more and more people walking and caring bags of groceries. If we don't get something out of this Iraq war other than huge bills, it will be the biggest rip off in modern times! I often wonder how the military and airlines will operate when the oil runs out. No one talks about that, they only talk about some sort of fuel substitute for cars. Can they be pulling our leg a little bit on this gas crisis crap? I still remember back in the seventies when there were long gas lines and they were telling people then that gas was running out. Then over night gas popped up everywhere. Will this happen again? I don't know, but I'm starting to smell a rat.

Tiana's field trip, she's feeling better

I hope that you're having a good day today, Tiana went on a field trip with her class to a farm just outside of town. She'll be seeing cows, chickens, sheep and various other livestock. Last year she also went to a farm and had the chance to milk a cow for herself! How wonderful to be a kid, I wish the world was a better place to leave them when they become adults, unfortunately this is a new age with violence all around us, so we must shelter our young ones from this craziness as long as possible. The rest of their lives they'll be experiencing a violent world, a world that should not be. I wish that we could all live in harmony, but this is not possible as long as people want to push their beliefs on others. I say: live and let live, you do as you like and allow me that same privilege.

Below:
A clip from Dumaguete City the Philippines, close to where my wife "Ana" comes from. I hope that you all enjoy seeing it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Worlds Greatest!

Hi everyone, I just thought that I'd do something different today. Do you like music like I do, and like to sing along with it? I know that most of my Filipino friends do. Well, here is one of my favorite songs that you can sing along with. I'm sorry that I couldn't find a better copy with the lyrics, (spelling is not great and some lyrics are missing) this guy should have taken more time and done it right, anyway it's not that bad. Have some fun with it, music is good for the soul. R. Kelly's: Worlds Greatest.

Friday and Tiana is still sick!

Wow, here it is Friday and I hate to have to report to you that our daughter "Tiana" is still sick. I woke her up for school again today, fixed her some breakfast, but she couldn't eat. She said she still felt like she wanted to vomit, so I guess it will be another Doctor visit for her. I called her Doctor but she hasn't returned my call yet, so we'll see what she has to say. Maybe Tiana has the "Flu" this time, since she's been sick most of the week. Michigan weather has been very erratic, hot one day and cold the next. Anyway, I hope that you and your family are healthy and doing well wherever you live. Have a great day and we'll have more on this as it develops.
