Smoking & school bus accidents

Something has come up again that I feel deeply about. Adults teaching their children that it's OK to smoke cigarettes. Every time an adult lights up in front of their kids and say.."don't do what I do" honey, it's bad for you! Now that's a copout if I've ever heard one. They don't seem to mind paying $5.00 or more a pack either, which takes away money from the family which is surely needed (in most cases) for other more important things for the family. I take my daughter Tiana to school every morning because because I don't want her on a school bus without seatbelts. I'm linking a school bus accident that just happened yesterday where four children were killed, it was not my child but it was someones elses child that trusted the school bus driver and a bus without seatbelts. If you have the time to take your kids to school, do it, if something ever does happen at least you don't have to blame someone else. It's time to equip school busses with seatbelts for all the children and hire better qualified drivers. This will cost a little more but make our school busses and our children a lot safer. For now school busses are not required to have seatbelts, this is crazy!
Getting back to smoking, another thing that I want to bring up. I see almost everyday people pulling up to the school with cigarettes in their mouths. windows rolled up and a
"fog" of smoke in the car! They put their cigarettes out and go and pick up their children then the first thing that they do after reentering their car...yep, you guessed it, light up another cigarette! Now remember, it's cold here in Michigan and those kids are breathing second hand smoke! Something has to be done to protect the children from their uncaring parents. All children have the right, not to have to breath second hand smoke. I don't have an answer to how to stop smoking in the home in front of the children either which is also another problem, but we had better do something about this on going problem. We protect our children from preditors but not from their own parents!
