The elusive Snow blower!

Did you ever "not need" something and whatever you didn't need you could find everywhere you looked, then when you did need it, you couldn't find it anywhere? Of course, I'm in that situation right now. I'm looking for a good "used" snow blower or thrower as you may have it. It seemed not long ago they were everywhere, now they don't seem to be anywhere! I really hate paying full price for something that I really don't like to use in the first place, if you know what I mean. I don't mind buying something new if it's something that I really like and want...this is NOT one of those things! So as long as the snow is not falling to much, I'll keep looking, but more than likely I won't find one anywhere...unless it was summer that is!LOL

Our first snowfall came down today!

Well, we finally had our first snow fall today. It didn't stay on the ground, but it sure made driving tough. I must admit, it sure was pretty though watching those silver dollar sized snowflakes float out of the sky. When we lived in California we never had the sense of Christmas, because the weather was mostly warm all the time. Even seeing the Christmas lights on the boulevard, didn't do it for me. There has to be "snow" at Christmas time, just like you see on almost every Christmas card you buy. Christmas must be cold and snowy. Can you imagine Santa and his reindeer without snow, or "frosty the snowman" without snow? It takes more than just reindeer and a guy with a white beard for it to be Christmas to me,you know! Anyway, we're starting to see lights going up all around town here in Michigan, so that must mean that Christmas is right around the corner! Let me be one of the first to wish you all a very "MERRY CHRISTMAS" May I also add one more thing....don't forget all those "brave" men and woman that protect us against the evil people in the world this Christmas. Say a small prayer when you sit down to eat your Christmas dinner, for without them, we would have no more Christmases!

It's about time to start thinking about getting some new tires for my car. I've been doing some upgrading to the front end as you know, but the darn car still shimmy and shakes at speeds over 60 MPH. I changed all the items that the repair shop told me were bad, but I'm still having problems with the car. I'm really sick and tired of the BS that these guy's get away with, just so they can run the bill up on you! I still say that we need to grab a few of these bums and throw them in the poke for awhile! I don't know why society keeps putting up with this nonsense....oh yes, don't forget about those "crooked" car salesman too!

We need to check on Bill today too, we haven't seen him in a few days and he was supposed to come over for Thanksgiving dinner but didn't. He may also have a cold. More on this later.

Man, I'm sitting here "coughing" my head off! I went out in the rain the other day with Tiana and we both caught colds. We then in turn gave our colds to Hannah and Ana. One must always share you know! LOL We will be going to Wall Mart today so Ana can check out a new computer she's been looking at. If the price is right we may bring it home. We could use a new computer, this one is about six or seven years old now. It's been a good one (Sony) but lacks many of the new "bells and whistles" that the later models have. Tim's on his way home

Well Tim will be leaving for Michigan tomorrow. He plans on stopping in Indiana to see his mother, so he may not arrive here until Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully he'll get a place soon because he still has one son in high school. It's too bad that he had to move him before this school term was up, but I guess that's just the way it goes.
We haven't seen Bill, maybe he's sick. Colds are running rampant here in Michigan right now and everyone that I know of has one. We'll see if he shows up today.

Tim's coming home!

This is Tiana's last day of school until the end of the Thanksgiving hoiliday's. I'm glad too because I'm coming down with a cold and would hate to have to get up and take her to school feeling like this. The weather has suddenly gotten quite cold here in Michigan and with a rapid switch from warm to cold, that's all it takes. Hey, I still have "tan marks" where my flip flops where on my feet! Now I'm looking for a snow blower!

Just a short note to let you know that my son "Tim" is moving back home. His old boss called him and offered him a job for a lot more money than he's making in Colorado. This is what he's been waiting for. He says that Colorado is beautiful but it's not home. He's had home sickness for weeks now, so this was very good news for him. He will stay with "Bill" until he gets his own place. Welcome home Tim and your sons.

Boy was it cold here in Michigan this morning. Seems like it was just the 4TH of July and the weather in the 90's! Speaking of "time", I cannot believe how fast it's passing. 50 years have passed since I heard my first Elvis Presley record, fifty years! At least I was there when it all happened, seeing the birth of Rock n' Roll that is. What a great time to have lived. Today is my sons Birthday!

Yes, today is my son "Tim's" Birthday. I won't tell you how old he is, and I'm sure that he wouldn't want me too either. LOL He's working in Colorado Springs, but he really wants to move back "home" to Michigan. He told me that beauty (meaning Colorado)means nothing without your family to share it with. I guess we all know what he means by that. Home is where the heart is, and his heart is back here in Michigan with us. Tim misses his two new sisters, Tiana and Hannah too, and he just got started to get to know Tiana before he moved away. Now he has Hannah to spend time with as well when he gets back. There is not a lot of work right now in Michigan but he says that he will find something, and as long as he's home again he'll be happy no matter what he has to do to survive. I hope that he's right.

Scared to death!

Let's get into something completely different for a change. I want to ask you guys something. Have you ever been in a really dangerous situation and didn’t know whether you would get out of it safely or not? There is a movie out called The Mist by Stephen King that reminded me of a situation like that that I found myself in once. The time was the sixties, I was in the military at Bunker Hill AFB Indiana. I had just met my first wife and we were out riding around one weekend evening with two of her friends. They decided to take a ride through the park, while there we decide to stop and neck for a while. It was a moonlite night and mist was all around. After we were there for a few minutes we heard an unusual sound that seemed to be coming from all around the car! We all were really scared, so everyone held their breath. We stayed really quite to see if we could find out what the noise was. Suddenly in the darkness a group of "bikers" in black leather jackets appeared and surrounded our car! The girls "screamed" as they tried to open the car doors, but they were locked, so they started hitting the car with their fists and some of them struck the car with "clubs", then they tried to smash in the windows! The fellow who was driving the car was so scared that he had a very hard time starting the car, after several tries and with all of us yelling at him to get us the hell out of there, he finally got the car started. All this time the bikers were trying to get our doors open and smash in the windows! As we drove off they gave chase and followed us for a bout a mile before finally giving up. I’ll tell you, I don’t remember being that scared before. I was always told by my mother, that it’s not the dead that you have to worry about, it’s the living! Believe me, no truer words were ever spoken.

Remember when I told you about being ripped off on an ebay computer purchase? Well then you also may remember that I also told you that we won our "dispute" with the seller, who turned out to be a woman. Well she sent me an email yesterday stating that she was charging us re-stocking fees that added up to about $85.00! I almost hit the ceiling so I quickly contacted the PayPal people who told me not to respond to her email, and that we certainly would get ALL of our money back. I have never in my life come across anyone with a more rude and aggressive manner than this woman. She professes to be a Doctor of all things, and if she really is, then she's one of the weirdest Doctors that I have ever encountered. She'd give Dr.Frankenstein a run for his money! I hope that I never run into anyone like this again, believe me. She's going to "flip" when she finds out that she has to return all of our money! Sorry Doc, but you screwed up this operation!

Heart touching story

Here is a story I would like to share. It is a great heart touching story, so I thought I'd share it here. It is nice to do something good for someone that needs it most, and this story is like that. Sometimes, we all need someone to lean on, and the young man in this story did that. So, there you go folks, may you like this story.

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.

"Your son is here," she said to the old man.

She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed
Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night
the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering
him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away
and rest awhile.

He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of
the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night
staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.

Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held
tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had
been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.

"Who was that man?" he asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.
"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"

"I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his
son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick

to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed."

What happened to the page ranking?

I am surprise to see how the page ranking has gone down. Imagine, my rank is now down to 2 instead of 3. It makes me wonder if google penalized the blogs that has sponsored posts only. Tiana's teacher say's that she's doing fine!

Well, we had our teacher conference Wednesday with Tiana's teacher and it seems that Tiana is doing a lot better in school than we thought she was. She still has a lot of work to do, but it went a lot better than we had expected it would. Kids are kids, we all must remember that. Do you remember when you were a kid? Surely not, but believe me, we had our own problems to deal with at school. Be patient with your child, not all kids will be "honor students" but that doesn't mean that they're not learning. I just hate to see those "My Child Is On The Honor Roll" stickers on car bumpers, primarily because it makes the other kids feel inferior, and that's not fair to them at all in my opinion. It's like rubbing their noses in it!Some kids today rebel later on because of all the pressures we put on them. When will the next Columbine event happen? I don't know that answer but what I do know is; we'd better stop making the other kids feel "not as good" and maybe a lot of this violence will also stop! If your son or daughter isn't doing as well as you expect them to do, then just remember...THEY ARE KIDS, give em' a break, and stop "Bullying" at school too!

Tiana's doctor appointment today

We went out last night and bought Hannah a new pair of shoes. The doctors at Shriner's hospital want to fit her brace to a new pair of shoes, and being just a baby, she didn't have any. We also bought her a new stroller. We've had to carry her wherever we've gone and now that she's gained weight, it makes it just too difficult for us to carry her. Today Tiana has a doctors appointment at 4:00PM with her neurologist. He wants to give her an MRI, but I want to wait until she's a little older, because they have to put her to sleep before doing it. I know of two people who passed away from being sedated, so that was enough for me not allow her to be sedated. We'll do the MRI when she is older and doesn't have to be sedated,

Hard to find metric parts in Detroit!

Let me tell you something, if you have a foreign car and live in Detroit and need a metric screw or nut, just forget it! I spent several days, even went to a fasteners company and couldn't find one small metric nut to fix my car! These people are so into American cars here that they don't stock metric car parts. I even went to a foreign car parts store and they too gave me that "Dah" stare! Let’s talk about "Loans" today. We all get them, but how many of us really do our homework before signing on the dotted line? Back to Chicago & Tiana's schoolwork review

This is the day before we have to take Hannah back to Chicago to have her leg fitted with a brace. That long trip by bus is a killer, remember we have to turn around and come back the same day! This makes for the longest day and just exhausts you. We then have to send Tiana to school the next day, the 8TH, and are scheduled for an annual review of her school work with her teacher. If I don't fall asleep in the meeting it will be a miracle!

Chinese restaurant feels Hannah's wrath!

We went out last night for dinner to a Chinese buffet here in Roseville. We were undecided as to what we wanted to eat, so we settled on Chinese. Anyway, it was good that we chose this restaurant because Hannah became totally unruly and we had a hard time controlling her. She just wouldn't stay in her highchair, she wanted to crawl all around on the floor. No matter what we did to try to stop her, she did it anyway. She was crying and wanted to get down and crawl around. Since we were at the Chinese restaurant,they have a very large dining area with a lot of room between tables, this allowed us to somewhat control the situation. Eventually I had to take her out of the restaurant so Ana could finish her dinner by herself. It looks like we will have to wait until she is a little older before taking her to a good restaurant, otherwise the same thing could happen again. We must always remember that this is a baby and these things happen.

We won our eBay dispute!

You know, once in a while though we get some good news for a change. This time the news came in an email from our friends over at eBay. They informed us that we won our dispute with the woman that sold us that computer! Wow! will Ana be a happy lady today. If you remember back in one of my earlier blogs, I talked about being careful buying something off of eBay, and if you do, never buy anything that does not have the actual picture, and i must add, does not state that the item is nonreturnable. EBay has a lot of crooked people selling things by misleading the bidders. We had such a thing happen with a computer we bid on and won. The picture she used in her listing was not the computer she gave us, and when I tried to deal directly with her, she in so many words, told me to "stick it!" I was so happy that she put a lot of her words in emails to me, this gave the eBay people a chance to read just what I was dealing with. Her rude emails played an important part in all of this. I will never again bid on something that does not have the actual picture. Most of the time, unless the item is listed as "new", there is no good reason to list an item on eBay with a generic picture. Thank God we won, chock one up for the good guys!

I need help cleaning our house!

We've got a problem at our house. Seems like ever since Ana started making money Blogging she can't find any time to do anything else! She promises me all the time that she's going to cleon the house but in the end...nothing! One more Booo..until next year

I hope that everyone made it through Halloween without any real problems. We went out "Trick or Treating", walked up and down one street after another and eventually found ourselves lost. When we finally found our way back to our car and left for home, we realized that we were miles from where we started! We think that we got caught up in a time warp of some sort! LOL
I had to "yell" at a couple of hot rod drivers too, seems like some people just don't care if they kill a kid! Not if I have anything to say about it!
The school is closed this Friday, so Tiana will have a three day weekend. She just loves to go to school, so this will not exactly make her very happy. I guess I should be happy that she's that way.
