My online gig is tiring

I never knew that what my wife is doing online can be so tiring. I give her credit for having the will to continue working online, especially those that can do so many posts in a day. I could never do those things. However, it is survival of the fittist. I've got to hand it to those who can do it. Anyway, we just got home from trick or treating. I took Ana and our girls trick or treating. They were all dressed up with great looking costumes in which they all look stunning. Ana was dressed up as a witch, Tiana was dressed as a rainbow princess, and Hannah was dressed as a cute pumpkin. So, they sure had a ball trick or treating. I have more to say, but I am very tired, and will need to take my rest, so I will call it a night now. I'll tell more tomorrow about what happened when we went trick or treating. Halloween Parade at Tiana's school today.

We're getting ready to go over to Tiana's school (Kaiser)this afternoon to see her and her classmates march in a Halloween parade. They will all be in their Halloween costumes, so we plan to take several pictures to put on Ana's blog for you to see. This time I hope our camers works, the last time I tried to use it, it got an attitude and stopped working right when I needed it the most!It's time to replace it I know, but I have so many other things that are more important, that it gets pushed to the side. 'We received a call yesterday confirming our next appointment at Shriner's hospital for Hannah, so we're off again the 7TH for "hopefully" our last trip to Chicago for a while.

Are your kids ready to scare the heck out of all the neighbors tonight? Booooo! How about you, are you going out "Trick or Treating" with them like Ana's is? Again let me remind you to be careful and safety contous, watch out for those drivers who just don't seem get it on Halloween and "still" race around residential neighborhoods like their going to a fire. I really don’t know where to start about this wap site article, but I do believe that it will be a while before the mobile website really takes off in this country. Ana's first Trick or Treat!

Guess what? Ana will go Trick or Treating tomorrow with Tiana and Hannah! LOL I didn't expect that she really would, but she wants to, because she never got to do anything like this when she lived in the Philippines. This should be fun, so I'll post on this later and let you know what heppened.

Booo..yep, tomorrow is Halloween and the goblins will be out in force, so please let me remind you to drive safely and watch out for those little tykes tomorrow. Here in Detroit most people drive like they're going to a fire most of the time. When I first moved back here, three little kids lost their lives chasing balls into the street. It turned my stomach because this is a needless thing to have happen. In California they have a law that all states should adopt. When ever anyone crosses the street, no matter if they're "J" walking or in a cross walk, you must stop and let them cross. This law keeps you on your guard for those times when the unexpected happens. Old people as well as kids dart into the street at times unexpectedly. If there is no such law, then you are not thinking about such a thing happening and what to do if something like that does happens to you. Hannah got four shots yesterday

We took Hannah to the Doctors office yesterday for her one year check up and for her next series of shots. Hannah's Birthday

It was Hannah's first birthday yesterday, she seems oblivious to everything and just wanted to smash her cake! LOL We took a lot of pictures and also recorded it on videotape. How the time passes without us knowing it.

Bill stopped by yesterday to watch the Lions play the Bears. What a shocker...the Lions actually won the game! Are things really changing for the Lions, or will reality finally hit one of these weekends, plummeting them back into obscurity? Only time will tell.

Tiana went on field trip today

Well Tiana went on her first field trip today with her classmates. They took them to an apple orchard and farm just outside of Detroit. They were to see farm animals, drink cider and pick pumpkins! Wow!, I'll bet she had a great time.
I haven't heard anything about my nephew yet, so nothing on that. Maybe more next week.

My nephew contracted lung cancer from smoking!

Did I tell you that I've just received word that my nephew (Wesley) has contracted lung cancer? Yes, he is addicted to tobacco and should have known better. His brother just passed away last year along with his father to a heart attack, so this is a big hit for my sister. I read in USA Today that Robert Goulet has some sort of fatal lung disease also and is waiting for a lung transplant in a Los Angeles hospital. The article said that lung transplants are 98% successful! Wow, that's good news, so there still may be hope for Wes. I don't know much more except that he has gone for a biopsy. Any more information will come in a later Blog. Please, please, please if you smoke QUIT before it's too late. I used to be a smoker myself, three packs a day at one time and I quit, not just for myself but for my family. I have to be here to raise the kids and take care of everyone, this is my responsibility to all of them. What good am I to anyone if I'm dead? There is so much information out there about how bad tobacco is for you, lung cancer, heart disease leading to a heart attack, artery disease, man it goes on and on. Ana is 27 years old today!

Today is my wife Ana's Birthday. She is 27 years old today! Wow, an old lady already. LOL In four days it will also be our dear little daughter Hannah's birthday as well, of course she'll be only one year old. We have to take her back to see the Doctors at Shriner's hospital in Chicago November 7Th to have her fitted for a leg brace. With one leg not so good, she is still doing just fine. Not much to say today

It's the weekend again and I still have a lot to do to our house before winter comes. We had some bad weather in Michigan last week but not around the Detroit area, so we lucked out there. I guess some tornadoes hit out in some rural areas of Michigan and caused three deaths. I hope that someday they'll be able to alert people faster so this doesn't happen anymore. It always makes you feel bad when lives are lost to the weather. God bless those who parished.

We have to back to Chicago to have Hannah's brace fitted and we're not looking forward to that long trip again It was a long hard ride on the Shriner's bus, but we do what we have to do for our children and that's that.

Going back to Chicago

That screwball car of mine is giving me trouble again! Yep, I guess I should have kicked it a little harder last time it screwed up. LOL Anyway what I really wanted to let you know was, we have got to return to Shriners Hospital Chicago in three weeks to get Hannah's leg brace and have it fitted to her while we're there. Hannah at Shriners Hospital

We finally made our trip to Chicago for Hannah's leg evaluation. Talk about a trip, it has been a long time since I traveled by bus anywhere, so now I know why flying is so popular! LOL It wasn't as bad as you might think though and everything went as well as could be expected. The surgeon's gave us three options as to what could be done to help Hannah.

First Option; Amputate the leg near the thy and install prosthetic leg.

Second Option; Amputate her foot only, replace with an prosthetic foot and lengthen to match other leg.

Third Option; Make a brace to straighten her leg and add thickness to her shoe to add height.

Needless to say we've chosen to go with the Third Option for now and hopefully in the future something can be done to make it even better for her. If either of the first two options were chosen, then it would be a final decision and nothing more could be done to help her. This is the best choice for her right now.

I want to say something about SHRINER'S Hospitals. If you're not familiar with them. They are an organization of people that are dedicated to helping children overcome illnesses of various types. Surgery is also an option when needed to correct certain conditions at no cost to the family. How can you beat that? You can't, so if you know someone who has a sick child and they need help, then tell them about Shriner's Hospital's, I understand that they have 22 chapters around the country, so even if one is not near you, they may still come and pick your child up and take your child to their hospital at no cost to you. She's moving to KY

I just received an email from my niece who lives in Phoenix. She's a nurse,like her mother and aunt before her. She let us know that she will try to sell her house and move to Kentucky by this coming summer. She had two daughters born prematurely when she was married to her husband and while he was still in the military. The military Doctor failed to get the twins out in time, so they suffered brain damage. They are now cared for at a nursing home somewhere in Kentucky. If any of you don 't know, you cannot sue the military, especially if you're in it at the time something like this happens. So they are stuck with two children who'll be invalids for the rest of their lives.There is one good thing in all of this, she'll be close enough to Michigan to be able to give some comfort to my sister, who is going through tough times herself, with her latest son being diagnosed with lung cancer. My nephew has Lung Cancer

I just received word that my nephew has lung cancer. Yes, he's a smoker and should have known the risks of tobacco, but it still hits you quite hard when cancer becomes a reality. I have no words that can take the hurt away, what do you say to someone who just lost their husband and another son last year? Now this is her second son that is dying. Yes, she has two sons left, but one of them has already had surgery for cancer too! Man, when it rains, it pours. B-illery, the tale of two presidents

So you ask the question, does Hillary suck? Well, I don't really like the terminology here and I think that the question should have been worded better. I’m an Independent and I usually don’t vote for either Republican or Democrat. However, I would like to give my impression of her. She is a well schooled lady and the wife of a former president. So, I think she would probably do a lot better than most people think she would. Remember, she’d have one of the best advisers in the wings whenever she needed him. It would be more like having two presidents at the same time. You ask if I’ll vote for her, only time will tell. Ask me if she becomes the nominee. I’m still looking at all the candidates from all the parties. I think that she deserves a solid 3 1/2 out of a possible 5.

Homesick!

I just spoke to my son Tim who is living in Colorado Springs. He wants to move back here to the Detroit area really badly. He thought that he'd like living there but found out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. Yes, it is beautiful but in his words, "it's not home"Dad. I want to be back around my family. We all wonder some time in our lives and some of us even come from far off lands looking for that illusive dream. Most of us never find it and wonder why they ever left home in the first place. My son is such a person. Hopefully he's learned his lesson.

Friday and Tiana's ripped top

It's Friday people, we've made it another week without too many problems anyway.
How about you, did everything go okay? I hope so.

It sure turned cold up here in Michigan, just about two or three days ago it was like summer and now we're freezing!

As it turned out yesterday, Tiana did rip her top all by herself. I don't know why she did it. I think that she gets frustrated with her speech problem, trying to communicate. Having two kids with two sets of problems is quite a challenge, believe me. Anyway, I guess everything is fine now, she seems to be okay, so this time we're just going to let it go. Tiana's top was ripped at school today

We just received a call from Tiana's school telling us that she had ripped her top. They said that she was pulling on it, yet we've never seen her do such a thing. We had some problems with her first school too so we're wondering if this is happening not by accident, but intentional. Tiana had suspicious red marks on her back several times before moving her to this school. Question is; are they mistreating her because she has a speech problem and cannot tell us what's happening to her? I don't know, I hope that's not the case, but we will be watching to see if any more marks turn up on her body. If so, then we'll have to take some action. No one wants to think that their child can be in any danger at school, from a teacher, or any adult when their out of your control, but as we all know, things like this can and do happen. We'll be watching.

Rain today

It's raining today but at least it's not snowing. How's everything where you live? Hopefully nice.
Well, we're getting ready for our second attempt at going to Chicago for Hannah's leg diagnosis. I hope that all goes well this time. Remember, last time we had car trouble just outside of Detroit and had to turn back. This time we'll be going by bus, so I think that all should go well. I don't know why some kids are born without any problems and some are not. You have to experience something like this to actually know how heartbreaking it really is. I just "cringe" at the thought of Hannah having to undergo the knife. I hope that my old heart will take it. This is such a downer to talk about that I will close this time and do my work. My wife calls her people in the Philippines-that is calling internationally, and I can't even begin to tell you how costly it is. It often makes me wish she can find a better alternative. Perhaps, something over the internet that cost less money than what she has been paying. It seems to me like she is spending $30.00 a month on her international phone bills. It is outrageous. But anyway, I just found out about a website that might be interested in to solve her problem with paying too much. Can't seem to keep the house clean

I have been on my wife's back about house cleaning, because it seems that the house never gets cleaned. However, she does what she can in spite of her busy schedule which sometimes hinders her from doing her house chores. I understand because it takes times, and even I have trouble with doing the online blogging scheme like she is doing. Boy, it drains all our energy to keep up especially when we have kids to worry about. The children are especially the ones ransacking the house, and making a mess everywhere they go, only Ana gets blamed at times since she doesn't always clean as soon as she should. Anyway, I just want to keep the house clean and sanitary. I am an organized person, so I am trying to get things in order and keep things from getting messy. It bothers me to see the house all in big mess, but I guess, since we have children, that is part of life. Anyone can't expect to have a well organized and clean house when there are children around. So, yes, I would say so. Alright, got to go for now.

Showing up in the wrong time

Talk about forgetting something I was supposed to remember. Well, today, I had to get everyone ready for making it to our daughter's school because I thought we had a conference meeting, but then when we arrived we didn't see a lot of vehicles around. That was all we had to see which made us doubt about having a meeting. So to save everyone the hassle of having to go in the school with me, I decided to go alone and find out if indeed we were supposed to be there. But no, I was wrong, because I mistook it for this month instead of next month on the 9th of November. So anyway, that is what happened with us today. Ana was all dressed up ready to go in, I felt bad because she had to rush. I hope it won't happen again, I will have to write any appointment we have from now on, because actually to write it down...LOL. Boy, that is life in the big city, there are so much to do, everybody gets really busy and forget things. Okay, this is all for now, I shall go. See you!

Going to Midland Michigan

I just received a call from my friend "Van" in California. He's a part time pilot and currently building his own airplane. He just purchased a used landing gear from a fellow in Midland Michigan and asked us if we could go and pick it up for him. He's done allot for us over the years, and is a very good friend to Ana and me. He's one of the nicest fellows that you'll ever want to meet in your lifetime, the type that will come to your aid in the middle of the night, whatever time it is. I wish that everyone could have a friend like Van, unfortunately they're few and far between.

Ana' s Grandmother had a stroke

If you know my wife Ana, her grandmother who lives in the Philippines, has suffered a "stroke" just recently. It was a good thing that Ana purchased a motorbike for her father because he was able to drive out to grandmas farm and bring her into Bayawan City where they can care for her. Grandma is a little better now that they're caring for her but she's bedridden, a least temporarily. I will post more information when it becomes available. As you may know, Ana's uncle Philip was also brutally murdered last year too. The killer is awaiting trial and his accomplices are still at large. Ana lost her grandfather about six months before her uncles the murder, so all of this may have contributed to her grandmothers condition. Ana is a very tough lady and has taken all of this bad news very well. I'm so fortunate to have someone like her.

Lighting your garage

When we bought our house the former owner told us that the garage was about six years old and that it was her husbands favorite place to be. I had to scratch my head, because I saw only one little light bulb in the middle of the room of a two and a half car garage! So when we took passion, I quickly put up two very large fluorescent lights in the two bays. I replaced the old workbench with a new one and bought a shop light to put over it. It’s a lot better now, but not yet perfect. School problem

I had a small problem with Tiana's teacher the other day. Seems that Tiana had been sticking her tong out in class, disrupting her classmates. So the teacher wrote her up and we had to sign it. I didn't know whether or not it would be put into her school records or not, so I went and had a talk with her principle. He assured me that this was just for the teachers records and that nothing else would come of it. I was somewhat chastised by the teacher too when I talked to her, she surmised that we condoned such behavior, but I quickly corrected her by letting her know that kids will be kids. I also let her know that I have already raised a son and know all about classroom behavior. Rest assured that we do not condone in any way such behavior in the classroom. Now days a kid cannot be a kid anymore, simple little things that you and I have done when we were in school are no longer tolerated. Remember when it was fun to go to school?

Ebay Dispute

Sorry that I haven't posted lately but I've been really busy painting the outside of our house before bad weather comes.

Do any of you buy or sell on ebay? Well, I buy a lot of stuff from ebay and this time I was stuck with an item that didn't quite fit the description. It was a Compaq Desk top computer, and when "googled" it didn't turn out to be like the one I was given at the end of the auction! The seller put a "stock photo"of a newer computer in her listing and that was the one that I thought that I was bidding on, well it turned out not to be the case.So anyway, I had to submit a "dispute" with the seller, a woman, who is fighting me tooth and nail not to give me my money back. She did offer to refund 50% of the money however, what a great gesture! LOL Anyway it's around $400.00 that we're talking about, so we'll see what happens. I'll post the result when ebay finishes with it. I'm not that optimistic, to tell you the truth, because she was clever in her listing and may win on a technicality. We'll see.
