I got married early

I met my first wife "Patty" when I was in the military, and was blessed with a son at nineteen years old, but the marriage was doomed right from the start. We found out that we were not meant for each other but we had a son to raise, so we stayed together until he was eighteen years old. Sometimes this is not the best thing to do as I found out, because we fought most of the time and fighting is not good to have a young child around. "Lust" is sometimes mistaken for actual real love when you're this age and I found this to be my down fall. It cost me the best years of my life.

Happy 13th Birthday Rosalie

It's my little sister in law's birthday, so I thought I would make an entry just for her today. She is such a sweetheart, I tell you. I miss seeing her, because when we left, she was just a little one. She was just 4-5 years old, and now, she is turning 13 years old. She is turning into a beautiful young lady. Growing fast, and getting more beautiful everyday. The Peniano girls are gorgeous, and I am glad I am married to one of them. Anyway, to Rosalie: I wish you many more happy returns of the day, and hope that you will always be in good health, and happy. Study hard, and play hard...

I was in the U.S. Airforce

I left home at only 16 years of age. I went out into the world and found it very difficult for a young man without a good education to survive. After working several low paying jobs and moving from one place to another for about two years I decided that this was not going to work. I pondered over what to do to make my life better. I knew it would be impossible to go back home, as was NOT an option, so as many young men before me, I new that the militay was the only option I had left. BY this time I was living in California with a half brother who really wanted me out of his house, so one day I talked to a friend I had made about what to do with my life, he too was getting too old and also wanted to leave home and strike out on his own, so we decide to go talk to the Navy recruter together. Anyway, the next day we went into the Navy office in Santa Ana California and took the test to enter the Navy....we both passed! But there was only one problem, the quota was filled for the month so we were told we had to go home and wait to be called. Well I didn't want to wait and surely didn't want to go back home, so we walked around town talking to one another about what to do. As we were walking we saw the Army/Air Force Recruters office. Well you guessed it, we walked in and had a talk to the Air Force recruter. We told him what had happen and he said that he could use the same test for the Air Force and that he could have us both on a train to the Air Force training base in Texas within three days if we wanted to change and join the Air Force instead! This was great news to us, so we took him up on the offer and this is how I wound up in the U.S. Air Force.

Happy 25th Birthday Rob

My brother in law Roberto is living near Manila and I want to extend my birthday greetings to him. I wish the young man to always be in good health and good spirit. I talk to him on the phone from time to time, and I feel bad that he can't come to join his sisters here in America. Imagine, it takes 19-22 years to bring him over. He has to wait that long. So, it's sad that we can bring him over sooner. I will have to look into it, and see what we can do. Happy Birthday Rob! I hope you well, and keep in touch man! Stay cool!

I grew up on a farm

I grew up on a farm, and was raised by my Aunt in my mother's side of the family. My mother died after giving birth to me, and she was only able to see me for an hour. It's so sad because I had to grew up without my real mother, and my father was not a responsible man. That was why I had to be with my Aunt. I have two older sisters, but we didn't grow up together, they are much older than I am, so they both got to know our parents. I hardly know them due to that we live a long distance away from each other, and we never really keep in touch. I don't have a closenet family. Anyway, when my ex-wife and I divorced, I lived a lonely life with no one to share it with for 15 years, until my wife Ana came along. She acquired my contact address and wrote to me. So, we met through a correspondence. Anyway, she said she lives on a farm, I then related to her in the matter, which is what really prompted me to be interested in her. Also, one night I was listening to a soulful song by Lionel Richie entitled "Say You, Say Me" and that, really put my heart into falling in love with my wife Ana. I guess it brought the romantic side of me, though I know Ana is much younger than I. It didn't matter, and I wanted to help her and her family the most; bring her to America, give her a chance for a better life and future. Now, I can see that she at least have a sheer chance, and so as our children. I am glad I have them in my life, and I think my life is better than the way it was before.

My stories

I also created this blog so I can share some of my experiences over the years as well as stories about what I have been doing in the past years of my life. Well, in my life, I have lived in so many places around the country, and traveled acrossed country searching for jobs. When I was young, I went to live in the State of Florida for a while, then California, Indiana (for a short time), and eventually my family and I wound up back to California living there for almost 30 years raising my family. I worked at so many places, and held jobs that paid quite decent. However, time changed quite rapidly for me, my wife and I divorced, and now I am living a different set of life. A new beginning, I went to the Philippines, married a young woman, and now we have small children. We have two beautiful girls to raise, and I am trying my best to stay healthy and live longer. I want to be around for them.

Hello World!

Hello everyone, my name is Rick, my wife Ana helped me make my first ever Blog. I hope that you won't be disappointed. Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a Design Engineer with some twenty five years experience. I've worked on projects such as, valve/manifold design for the Trident and Sea-wolf submarines for the Navy. I've designed offshore oil field equipment for the Ivory Coast North Sea oil field Project and designed Emergency Lighting for the 757 aircraft at The Boeing Co. Everett Washington. I've also done some traveling, winding up in the Philippines on a couple of occasions. Most of my life however was spent in Southern California, but we have since moved to eastern Michigan where we live today. So much for warm weather!
