Hard to find metric parts in Detroit!

Let me tell you something, if you have a foreign car and live in Detroit and need a metric screw or nut, just forget it! I spent several days, even went to a fasteners company and couldn't find one small metric nut to fix my car! These people are so into American cars here that they don't stock metric car parts. I even went to a foreign car parts store and they too gave me that "Dah" stare! We moved here from Los Angeles where you can buy anything any time, to a place where you're lucky, and I mean lucky, to be able to buy something foreign for your car. Have you ever heard of car dealers being "closed" on the weekend before? Well they are here in Detroit. This is when most people would be most likely to want to buy a car, but no, they're out fishing or hunting deer rather than staying home and selling cars! I'll bet you can buy a car on Sunday in Japan! Weird to say the least! When I came here years ago to work for General Motors for a while, one day a secretary came by and said; if you're going deer hunting just let me know in time so I can schedule you. I replied to her, ah no, I'm from Los Angeles and in LA we only hunt people! She walked away with that same "Dah" look on her face! LOL We're living here alright, but it's sure hard to fit a square peg into a round hole!
