Why I Feel Strongly about Alzheimer's

This entry is one that we all need to read about because it will affect everyone of our families sometime in our life time. We're talking about Alzheimers desease. In our country's history we've been able to change destiny by banning together for one cause or another. African Americans banded together and marched in the streets in the sixties to fight for cival rights, in the seventies people took to the streets to protest the Vietnam war. In the nineties black people marched on Washington in the Million Man March to bring awareness to their cause. Now we have another enemy to deal with and it's called, Alzhemiers desease! If you don't know what it means, then you may visit the Alzheimer's Association. Anyway, this desease is a growing problem that not only affects the person who contracts it but their entire family as well. Can you imagine your father or mother not knowing who you are, and spending the rest of their lives living in a shell? Can you imagine going to visit them and they don't know who you are, can you? Can you imagine taking care of someone in that condition for the rest of their lives? Believe me, I took care of my mother in her last days and she showed symtoms of it and it was hard for us to deal with. These are heartbreaking thoughts. Well you can do something about it by stopping Alzheimers in it's tracks! Join an Alzheimer's Association walk in your comunity this fall. If you don't know where one is, then go to the Alzehimers walk website and there will be a walk locator there to help you. Remember, this is a nation wide walk so you'll have many just like you, who care, so sign up early! The walk needs Team Captions Team Walkers, or an Independent Walker. Show everyone that you care about this terrible desease, by putting your best foot forward to stomp out Alzheimes desease forever!
